La Valletta Relais

The hotel has a quiet but convenient location above the old town, with stunning views over the lush green countryside. We had a warm welcome from our 3 hosts, for whom nothing was too much trouble. Transport to and from the town was available free at set times, or a mere 5 euro outside these fixed times. For walkers, about 20 minutes is enough to reach the town. Breakfast was served indoors or on the terrace, and cereal, fruit, cold meats and cheese were all available. The mini bar was well stocked, at least until I made use of it. Overall, I thoroughly recommend La Valletta and would gladly return.

Wonderful, family run friendly hotel. Thanks to the free shuttle service, easy to reach even if you do not have a car. Rooms were nicer in reality than on the pictures. We would come again. Also free parking, should you need it. Good, fresh breakfast, fair prices for drinks and beautiful environment.

We were welcomed like family by Mario, his wife and son . Mario and his family care greatly for guests and nothing was too much trouble. Make sure when staying to try some of Mario’s fantastic wine . The breakfast was lovely , great coffee , pastries , eggs , bacon . Fresh orange and apple juice. Mario booked us lunch in the restaurant near his hotel which was very authentic and real Italian food.

Wonderful, small family run property in a quiet - almost rural - environment with nice views, but just 15 minutes walk to town. Wonderful breakfast on the patio. A great trattoria just a 5 minutes walk away.

We stayed in la Valletta relais on our first and last nights in bergamo.spectacular views , beautiful, tastefully decorated rooms and great breakfast.the family went out of their way to be helpful.its about 15 minute walk from the citta alta (the old town/high town) and a free shuttle bus is available.highly recommended if you are looking for an indulgent stay.

A lovely first night of our Italian holiday. A very peaceful rural spot but an easy walk into the old town. Bergamo really exceeded our expectations. We had a family suite with bonus of our own terrace and a very welcome minibar. Lovely breakfast on a covered terrace. Would love to return. Friendly helpful welcome and followed their recommendation for a restaurant for the evening.

A wonderfully relaxing start to our holiday. Bergamo airport is so easy to transit and the owner of the hotel,Mario,met us at Arrivals and took us to La Valetta directly in a very comfortable people carrier for 30 euro. Great value and stress free, particularly if you have heavy luggage. The hotel is a lovely villa overlooking a valley and a five minute drive to the old town. There are three scheduled free return journeys into town each day or you can pay 5 euro and go into town at a time of your choosing. We had a standard room which is small but very comfortable and has a well appointed bathroom. Both the bedroom and bathroom had large windows with lovely views across and down the valley. The breakfasts were excellent. A wide selection of continental breakfast items and limitless hot coffee. The bacon and egg is not in the English style , just so you know. We had breakfast on the terrace both mornings and took our time. We spent our afternoons in the old town where we ate and sat out on the terrace each evening with a lovely bottle of Valpollicella Ripasso at a very reasonable price. The trattoria nearby is not open on Monday and Tuesday evenings so factor that in. If you are looking for a place to enjoy the nightlife of Bergamo, then this hotel is probably not ideal. But if you are looking for a relaxing break with the most helpful of hosts, then this is the place for you. We look forward to returning soon, PG! Many thanks,Mario and family. Seán

Amazing hotel close to the old city of Bergamo! Very nice and welcoming hosts - amazing service - lovely room with fantastic view - nice and cozy atmosphere and breakfast 😁☀️ We will highly recommend you to stay here when going to Bergamo City, Italy 🇮🇹
