We don’t think this is a tourist hotel, for the simple reason it’s full of company meetings , seminars and training courses for outside companies who let their staff run wild in the place and cause all sorts of disturbances , even one night they had a party for students complete with thumping music and fireworks with no regard for other guests. We paid 60,000 INR per night for 21 nights, on our arrival at 4:00 am we were told by a very aggressive receptionist from Shimla that we didn’t have a room because our check in time was 2:00 pm , I explained we were flying from the UK at 2:00 pm and couldn’t be there , having paid for 3 weeks accommodation including breakfast we were told there wasn’t a room available but we could sleep on two couches in the reception area or go across to the Mira hotel across the road for 1500 INR , if we wanted to go down market we would have booked it before this one. We had to leave that night after a 14 hr flight from the UK and go to a friend’s spare room. The receptionist was getting angrier and angrier so much so he wasn’t making any sense. We returned in the morning where we were given a decent welcome. The room was a good size but the bedding was poor with dirty pillows and dirty quilts. The toilet became blocked a few times , there was blistering on the walls from dampness , the housekeeping was poor and they forgot items every so much so we had to call the reception for towels , toilet rolls , tea bags , drinking water etc on a regular basis , the one decent area was the breakfast , the service at breakfast was excellent with the brilliant Lorenzo being the guy to go to , well done Lorenzo. The WiFi was particularly awful and I had to go to the reception to get connected.
