Hotel Roc Meler

Great staff, great hotel. You will want a car ideally and spaces directly outside are limited but think there's paid parking or just up the hill. We stayed to try out grandvalira ski area, which has a lot of mileage but needs decent snow coverage and runs are shorter than the classic alpine resorts - enjoyable nevertheless. Anyway as family with two 15 year old boys we booked two rooms at good rates for 4 nights. Pool / spa was a bonus, you need nominally to book a slot and must wear a cap which you can buy for 3 euros. Breakfasts good and plentiful but bean to cup machine can't really make espresso to speak of. Bar had table football, pool, plus other games so good for a drink and some fun. Didn't try food there in the evening. Rooms very comfortable, quiet. Shower works fine but don't expect a torrent. Front desk staff lovely (Alex from memory but all the others as well). Recommend without hesitation. One ask to the hotel - gym was way too hot to use, and I'm fit / thin. I practically melted down running easy on treadmill even with the small desk fan and my own portable gym fan. Cooling may be difficult as it's buried deep in the building but ideally a portable Aircon or really strong fan. It's clear nobody uses it as a result since the water wasn't refilled for two days. And not related to the hotel, we found it easier to drive to the long telecabine in encamp to get into the middle of the skiing area, we almost got stuck trying to navigate the tricky lift combo to get back to the Canillo telecabine. Anyway thanks to roc meller team for a lovely stay.

Wow this hotel exceeded our expectations! We booked for a skiing holiday and weren’t disappointed. The hotel is lovely and clean, we really appreciated use of the spa after a hard day’s skiing. However we would have preferred the jacuzzi being hotter - the water was lukewarm which meant we got cold quite quickly and couldn’t sit in there for long. The food was phenomenal - such an extensive range including the biggest salad bar I’ve ever seen in a hotel! Super healthy options and they catered well for gluten-free diners. The fresh honeycomb was a highlight! We rented skis, boots, helmets directly from the hotel which was great as we could store it there each day in their locker room. The Irish pub was fun and the decor was super cool. The staff were lovely and really helpful. Thank you especially to Emilio (who was really lovely sorting us with our ski rental) and Micaela who answered all our many emails!! The shuttle bus to and from the cable car was super useful. NB it’s €10 for an hour in the spa but if you book a superior room the spa price is included. You have to wear a swim cap and flip flops.

My experience at Roc Meler was nothing short of fantastic, thanks to the outstanding service provided by the staff, especially Judith in the spa and the welcoming team at the reception and bar. Judith's massage was truly exceptional, providing a level of relaxation that exceeded my expectations. Her expertise and skillful techniques melted away any tension I had, leaving me feeling rejuvenated and refreshed. The staff at the reception and bar were equally remarkable, always greeting guests with warm smiles and a genuine desire to ensure a pleasant stay. Their attentiveness and friendliness added an extra layer of comfort to the overall experience. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a combination of excellent service and relaxation.

We had such an amazing week at Hotel Rox Meler. The staff made it so special and went out of their way to do everything they could to help us. Alex did so much to help us throughout the week, she was brilliant. We stayed in the Hydro Suite which had stunning views, a great jacuzzi bath which was excellent after a day on the slopes and the room had great space for a family of 4. The kids loved the buffet, so much choice every day. The shuttle ran really frequently so it was really easy to get to the gondola. The Irish Bar was really good fun in the evening - again, lovely friendly staff and lots of fun stuff for the kids to do (pinball, pool, darts). Couldn't have been a better week, heartfelt thanks to all the staff, we can't wait to come back xx

This is a great hotel! The staff are super helpful, friendly & all multi-lingual. Special thanks to Alex on reception & Judith in the spa for an excellent massage. The food is fresh and varied & staff in the restaurant are all very friendly and efficient. The Irish bar has a good vibe with soft-play area for little kids plus there’s darts, pool table & other activities for adults & kids to enjoy together. The spa has everything you need after a day on the slopes, we also used the gym which has all the basic equipment (however it was a little too warm to stay in there for long). We enjoyed the great views over Canillo from the room, which was super clean & with comfortable beds. The shuttle runs on demand so we were at the ski lift in a mater of minutes. Will definitely stay at this little gem of a hotel again!

Hotel generally is good. Nice and friendly staff. Nice food. Clean rooms A massive disappointment is SPA. Kids allowed until 18.00 only. Spa and swimming pool was the reason we were chosen this Hotel. And on the website no information about restrictions for kids. So after all day at skiing, families with kids do not have an options to use the swimming pool.

Beautiful hotel with stunning views. Bed and pillows were so comfortable I slept like a baby. There was an option to upgrade for 20 euros on arrival, we did this as it gave us a view and access to the spa. I didn’t have a swim suit but was able to buy one in the spa which was great. Breakfast and dinner were a buffet, lovely choice of food all labelled well so as I have a lactose intolerance was able to eat with confidence. The food was not that hot and I didn’t notice the available microwave until I had finished! There is an Irish bar which was fabulous, great staff, fantastic atmosphere and decor. It even snowed! The staff all spoke English, French and Spanish.

An absolutely excellent stay. All the staff were so friendly, polite and helpful. From the receptionists, to the waiters, to the bar staff, to the cleaners - everyone deserves recognition and praise. The restaurant food was top class, as is the chef - we were not tempted to go anywhere else for all 4 evenings of our stay. The spa was great too; the swimming pool with power jets and extra bubbles, plus jacuzzi and sauna! The location is perfect for walking up the mountain, and driving into the hills - even when the weather was not so good - was a delight. The scenery is fantastic! Thank you all very much for making us so welcome. Our room was really good too, with fabulous views, comfortable bed, and clean and modern shower facilities.
