Canal Quays Apartments

Much better than a standard hotel room. Stayed in room 606 for two nights. It has all the basic facilities like tea, coffee and bathroom amenities. Lovely view, security and is well furnished with parking. Conveniently close to Foreshore and CBD for business. Negatives are it's nowhere near restaurants. You need to Uber. Also no option for breakfast. WiFi was a bit slow.

We booked to stay in apartment 205 canal quays for 6 nights and it was the worst accommodation experience we have ever had. As soon as we walked in we noticed an overpowering smell of curry, the decor was like low level *********er chic and it was filthy. There was no hairdryer, cutlery, clothes airer etc etc and what cups and plates there were were dirty and caked with grime. The blinds were broken and hanging down and the sofas were so dirty you would need a shower after sitting on them. They promised a gym in the building which didn’t exist. Worst of all was the balcony doors that were faulty and didn’t lock. Not being able to lock your doors at night in South Africa is terrifying. We did our best by using cable ties but the manager of the apartment didn’t help us at all and just refused to answer messages. The person who manages the property was beyond awful and we left after one night. Please do not book that apartment it is truly awful and if you don’t get robbed then you’re likely to pick up an infection from the filth. We would give zero if we could
