Hotel Vittorio

We booked a balcony room overlooking the lake and were fortunate enough to be upgraded to a room with a terrace on the first floor. The room was spacious containing a large bed, wardrobe, table and chairs, bedside tables, TV, fridge and a safe (deposit payable). The bathroom was also fairly big and contained a shower but no bath (not a problem for us). The balcony and terrace offered great views of the lake which was just across the road, and had a table and chairs plus a sun lounger so you could sit and enjoy dinner or drinks outside. The main issue we had was was that it was really hot in the room, there was air con but it didn't seem to cool down the room much. However on the last night it was suddenly much colder so I suspect it was switched over to summer mode at that point. Also it would have been nice to have another plug socket by the side of the bed as I had to keep unplugging the lamp to charge my phone. The hotel is in a great location next to the lake and is close to many restaurants and a 5 minute walk from the ferry and the bus stop. The train station was also only 15/20 minutes away (up a big hill). Breakfast was included, this was a buffet style and was very varied. The breakfast staff as well as the front desk staff were all very helpful. Overall we had a great stay and would happily stay here again in future.

After a rocky start in Verona with our passports being stolen between the airport and train station, Hotel Vittorio and especially the amazing Aurora have been nothing short of amazing. Aurora helped direct us to the police station and suggest nearest embassy location in Milan. We attended for my fiancés 30th birthday. They provided us with an upgraded room with a terrace overlooking the beautiful harbour. Desenzano is a fabulous base with a station that has excellent links to all nearby major cities! Couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful stay!

Beautiful hotel in a fabulous location. This is my second time here and highly I recommend it. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, rooms extremely comfortable and view it fantastic. Breakfast is delicious and best cappuccino and pancakes ever. Well done to all.

Loved this hotel. Spent a week here in Sept 23. Ideal location right on lake front and close to all the restaurants in town. 2 mins walk to ferry terminal, 15 mins walk (uphill) to railway station. Good sized room with fridge, safe, aircon (that actually worked). Good sized bathroom with shower and plenty hot water. Great choice of foods at breakfast with something to suit all tastes. Reception Staff were great, really friendly and helpful and spoke good English. Restaurant staff were great too. Think it's rated 3*, but I have stayed in many 4* rated hotels that were not a patch on this. Would not hesitate to book this hotel again next time we go back to Desenzano

For our first hotel stay in Desenzano (we had visited this lively lake town several times before, but never stayed overnight) we were fortunate to choose Hotel Vittorio. The location overlooking Lago di Garda is probably the best of any hotel in town. We booked a top floor room with a large terrace -- the room was of adequate size, not large, but the star was the terrace, with its commanding view of the Lake. The people who run the hotel smoothly -- at the front desk, our housekeeper and the breakfast staff -- are attentive, personable and helpful. All real positives -- but the most outstanding feature of Hotel Vittorio is the sumptuous, well-served, multi-faceted buffet breakfast. It's a true contender for best hotel breakfast we've had in Italy, or anywhere else. Among many other high points, the breakfast in August included fresh figs (and lots of them!), an enormous block of sharp, hard cheese and proscuitto. They definitely found the right audience with this fig-tree growing Italian American! Finally, for all its several high points, I think the hotel -- while not bargain lodging -- is fairly priced. Overall a very pleasant, positive, 5-star experience at a hotel we hope to have the good fortune to visit again.

Great location and very friendly staff. Our hotel looked out onto Porto vecchio and the view was absolutely stunning. What impressed us the most was that when the windows were closed, the noise from the square was completely blocked out.

Beautiful little hotel overlooking Lake Garda. The staff are friendly and incredibly helpful, especially Aurora at the front desk. Ideally located between two popular piazzas and surrounded by all kinds of little shops. It’s a two minute walk to the ferry dock. Would definitely stay here again if ever I have the privilege to return to Desenzano Del Garda.

Hotel Vittorio is well located right on the lake front and close to all places of interest including the ferry. The buffet breakfast was substantial with a huge selection of hot and cold food and ample fresh fruit to choose from....one of the best buffet breakfasts of Europeans hotels. Furthermore, the staff were continuously replenishing the buffet so no one had to wait for selections. 3 stars does not do this hotel justice.

Road trip with my daughter and this hotel by far had the best view!!! I was unsure whether to book the superior room or the double with Terrace and I am so glad we chose the latter. To wake up in the morning and sit with a cup of tea on the terrace and see the magnificent lake Garda and the little boats was amazing, I would have been quite happy to sit there all day. The room itself was lovely, big enough for 2 people and large cases . Nice modern bathroom. The breakfast buffet was varied and plentiful. After observing other hotel'practices I would suggest transparent covers over the food to protect fron flies and better hygiene in regards to utensils being used for meat and non meat etc, with such a large buffet I can imagine this would have to be totally reorganized as it also is down to the client to use good sense. The hotel is in the middle of the centre but it wasn't at all noisy. So many lovely cafes and bars where you can sit and admire the views. I have been coming to Italy all my life and I noticed that the food in some restaurants in the centre , in general , catered for tourism and though food was good I have eaten better in Italy but we are foodies. Alessi Trattoria was great. It was atmospheric with dining outside indoors and in a courtyard. Pizzas were freshly made and the food was good, definitely worth trying. Hotel close to station and walkable if you are not in 40c heat and large cases. Hotel were kind enough to find us a taxi which was about 13 euros. Verona is 20 mins away by train and very easy to visit, Venice a little further but still great for a day trip from Garda. Overall we had a lovely time and would definitely return to the area and Hotel Vittorio.
