We stayed here the day before our cruise and for 3 days after our cruise. When we got back from the cruise, we were there at 4pm when checkin started. We were told to check back in 10 minutes, 2 different times and each time they told us the room wasnt ready yet. It was the 4th time going up that I asked if the room was ready and if not, I wanted to cancel my reservation. At 4:45 we finally got to our room. Come to find out they were painting doorways and that is why we couldnt get our room on time. By the time we were able to check in they had a lobby full of people. I pay for a service and expect it yo be ready at its intended time. If a hotel is doing renovations of some sort, they need to keep their paying customers in mind. The pool gate was broken so you couldnt get in on one side, they didnt have bowls for breakfast and offered laundry but was told I needed to go down the road for quarters. There are many hotel options when cruising out of Galveston and I do not recommend this hotel. Their staff and people overseeing that hotel were there and made no remedy for a late check in or even said sorry for the inconvenience. I read bad reviews of staffing issues after I had booked and didnt think we would have an issue but we did. You can go down the road a half mile and stay at 4 to 5 different hotel chains that have better ratings.
