The experience in the Watazen was great. Great hospitality and the breakfast and dinner was authentic and true to Kyoto cuisine.

It was a lodging where you could experience ryokans and hot springs in Kyoto.
Friendly staff, delicious breakfast. clean public bath
All were good.
It was nice to be able to buy various foods at the market because Nishiki Market was a 3-minute walk away.
I traveled on foot to Cheongsusa Temple and Nion Street.

We stayed a wonderful 3 nights as a family group. It’s wonderfully located within easy walking distance of the main shopping and dining areas and the bus/subway. Welcome and service were outstanding throughout. While the rooms are not huge they were very clean and comfortable. We had breakfast throughout and dinner one night, all of which were excellent.

Such a sweet and genuine place! Male sure to reserve dinner and breakfast! The rooms are nice, the owners are sweet and helpful. Unfortunately we didn't reserve dinner before hand, but we did have breakfast and absolutely loved it. The whole experience is super worth it :)

Although we had some concerns about the arrangements, we realized very quickly that we had hit the jackpot. We arrived and the staff quickly took our luggage and settled us into the room for tea. Everyone's travel stress went down by 100. The space is amazing, the staff exceptional, and the sleep was perfect. Thoughts for families - try one breakfast and one dinner, remember there are other bathrooms on each floor, slip into your yukata, order some sake and just sit. Location was easily accessible to transportation, shopping and historic areas. Clean, roomy, and worth the cost.

The service was excellen. We had the kaiseki dinner and breakfast and the staff was meticulous in every aspect. The female staff even recommended us where to buy souvenirs and was extremely helpful and courteous. Couldn't recommend this place enough!

Good location, excellent service, delicious food. Very accommodating - my husband is vegan, so he got special menu. Kaiseki dinner included 13 courses, and was probably one of the best meals we had in Japan. Highly recommended

It was a great experience to stay in a traditional inn. And we loved the traditional breakfast. The public bath was very clean and relaxing after a long day seeing the sights. Location was very central and easy to walk to many different areas. Staff was extremely welcoming and helpful and I would stay here again if I could!
