Chantauvent Guest House

We had an awesome 5 days at the Chantauvent Guesthouse. There's a beautiful view over the ocean from our room. The kids loved snorkeling over the coral reef. They saw plenty of colourfull fish in the crystal clear water. The staff are very friendly and helped us organise a car and boat trip to explore the many interesting and historic sites the island has to offer.

I stayed at the Chantauvent Guest House in January 2024. The room I was assigned was on the beach side of the hotel, which spans two sites separated by a street. Notably, the pool is located on the opposite side, away from the beach. Firstly, the beach side accommodation was disappointingly cramped; the room was so small that it was impossible to open two large suitcases at once. Moreover, it was infested with bugs and ants. The fridge was barely functional, and the room had an overpowering odor of sweat, which was quite repulsive. The closet emitted a moldy smell, which I couldn't quite identify. The bathroom, equipped with a sliding door, was a challenge as it wouldn't open properly. This was particularly inconvenient at night, as struggling with the door was noisy enough to wake anyone up. Additionally, the lack of ventilation in the bathroom, which opened directly into the bedroom, was a significant drawback. The toilet's plumbing was excessively loud, posing a problem for couples, as using it would inevitably disturb the other person's sleep. The bed was a further disappointment — not only was it small, measuring just 140 cm in width, but the mattress was incredibly uncomfortable. Although the beachfront is not suitable for swimming due to the rocky terrain, snorkeling there was enjoyable. However, the staff seemed indifferent and unresponsive to guests' needs. In summary, while the exterior of the buildings is charming, the comfort level is severely lacking. I would only recommend this place for a one-night stay, perhaps as a stopover before heading to the airport. For a longer visit, I would advise against it due to the numerous discomforts.

It's a great place to rest and relax. It's quiet and peaceful. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff were very helpful. Lunch and dinner were excellent too. The pool was clean. The beach is a stone throw away. We will definitely come back.

Wonderful, exotic, peaceful, clean accommodation. But in the morning it's really miserable!!! There needs to be a more healthy selection, not just plain bread! A very small and unhealthy choice! There were 12 persons and we all agree. I hope the hotel owners will somehow react. Otherwise, the place is lovely.

Very nice place with incredible snorkeling. Great pool and loved the table tennis table.

Chant Au Vent has very good affordable rooms with a more than helpful host. I was not expecting much for the money but was pleasantly surprised. I'll go back. The check-in staff, Christiane is super nice and helpful. Perfect for a short stay. It’s a good location and size. Great value for money. Air-conditioning is a plus. Internet access wasnt available in room, one had to sat outside in the balcony. Over All it’s a safe place, the proprety is under Surveillance cameras. Good for family, couples And stay with friends.

My husband and I had planned a lovely weekend and were excited to be at Chantauvant. However, we were extremely disappointed when we saw our room. We had booked a half board for our one-night stay and we got ROOM No 13 which was found above the SPOT restaurant. The stairs were insecure, the room was not as per the pictures, and too small. There was no kettle but only two mugs. I don't understand how we were supposed to make a coffee. The bed was so uncomfortable that our body was terribly aching. We couldn't sleep and woke up at 5 am. We had to wait until 8 am for the restaurant to open to be able to quench our thirst. The breakfast was TERRIBLE. The juice was literally mixed with water, there were eggshells in the omelet. I couldn't eat it at all. We felt like aliens to some who didn't even reply to our greetings. Before entering our room, we had requested a late checkout but the lady at the counter didn't even check availability before refusing us directly and during our stay as if no one was interested in hospitality. The sea view was lovely, I only appreciated two guys the barman who served our dinner and one long guy who prepared our french fries else NOT RECOMMENDED. I would have loved to go back BUT WE WON'T. WE DO NOT RECOMMEND IT.
