Hotel Nerja Club Spa by Dorobe

A sad hotel. The accommodation is adequate and the pool patio provides a lovely sun trap. There is a happy hour each day and Neil provides great entertainment twice a week. HOWEVER the hotel as the manager told us is a 3 star and it shows,particularly in the restaurant. Breakfast is exactly the same without variation each day. There is not enough staff so items of food run out and waiting around for replenishments was the norm. The staff are worked extremely hard and are swamped. They don’t have time to engage with guests even with a smile. The hours are kept strictly and I was even prevented from getting a glass of water as the service ended. I understand that dinner is no better. Cleaning staff do a great job.

Unfortunately our stay was marred by extremely noisy neighbours. That aside: The staff are friendly and courteous and appear to work extremely long hours. After a very long wait (cleaning team were behind schedule); Room was clean and spacious with a balcony. View was of the local supermarket. Sheets not changed during our stay (even if we requested the maid service). Extractor fan in bathroom not working. Nice terrace but crowded when weather was nice. Pool unheated and extremely cold. Breakfast was average at best with almost nothing for anyone following a vegan/plant based diet. Tea, coffee, machine reconstituted juice or water available. Dairy milk only. Dinner was boring. Chicken, pork and fish on offer every evening mostly in some form of casserole, with mixed vegetables. Dessert was jelly, or some mousse type option or ice cream (even when it had all defrosted it was still there and wasn’t emptied or removed when I pointed out that the freezer had defrosted). All drinks (including water) had to be purchased from the bar. Haven’t seen any sign of a spa. Good location for beach and town. Good transport links. Very noisy road at all times of day.

All hotel and rooms spotlessly clean we had a balcony with view over looking the mountains. The food was good for a three star a good choice at breakfast and dinner you buy and pay for your drinks from the bar which was good the staff worked very hard.outside area with a lovely pool although a little too cold this time of year.entertainment put on three nights a week which is mainly aimed at older people. The position of the hotel is ideal for the beach which is fifteen minutes walk the cave which well worth visiting are twenty five minutes walk and twenty five minutes walk to the balcony de europa and main town. The bus stop twenty minutes walk away you can get a bus to frigiliana for one euro twenty which is well worth visiting. A good hotel would definitely stay again.

We have stayed in hotels all over the world and firmly believe you can only review a property fairly if you do not compare it with a hotel that costs double or even more. The hotel was very clean with staff working hard all day. The room was slightly small but had everything you need such as a fridge, air con, kettle, TV, wardrobe, hangers, drawers, comfy bed, and safe. The bathroom was a good size and the shower was fabulous as it was hot and powerful. The balcony was very large and looked out on a quiet street. The food was excellent and changed every day. There was always a meat dish and vegetables and pasta and salad. The restaurant was modern and light. The staff on the whole were very friendly, however, this hotel would have received a five star rating if it had not been for a very rude waiter. We were eating in the restaurant when a couple sat at the next table and the man kept coughing and sneezing. When he got up to get food he walked past our table and coughed all over our food. The man returned and his cough got so bad he was struggling to breathe. We had had enough by this stage and discreetly moved tables. The waiter rushed over shouting at us and waving his arms. I quietly went up to him and tried to explain why we had moved but he just waved his arms around shouting. This is unacceptable behaviour with all of the various respiratory conditions around and let the hotel down.

Just returned from a 3 day break at this hotel. All the staff are very pleasant and efficient. Our beds were made every day and towels changed. All areas of the hotel was spotless. There was plenty of choices in the restaurant we were half board. I was worried about the poor reviews before we stayed there but needn't have been. We had no complaints whatsoever and would return if we went back to that area

A lot off reveiws complaining about the food, we found it ok wasn't top notch but always got something to eat, very friendly staff and the hotel is very clean our room was cleaned every day, our room was overlooking the pool, only complaint would be if you have people next day that are noisy the walls are very thin, so it definitely depends what room you get, enjoyed breakfast every morning.for what we paid was good value,20 min walk to centre

The hotel is typically Spanish and is a pleasant stroll to the centre of Nerja. We are 72 years old and found the walk quite easy and pleasant. For those who have mobility issues, there are buses as well as taxis. The hotel is always kept exceptionally clean. There is a lovely sunbathing pool area with plenty of comfortable sun beds. There is a 2 hour happy hour each day. The rooms are nice with comfortable beds and a free fridge. A safe is available if you want one. There are various English TV channels on a flat screen TV. The channels included bbc1, bbc2, itv1, channel 5, BBC news and some children's channels. All rooms have balconies some large ones and some Juliet balconies There is evening entertainment some nights. The food obviously doesn't have the choice of very large hotels but there is quite a good choice. One suggestion to the hotel is when British people have a dinner of meat, potatoes and vegetables, they like gravy or the meal can be dry. Gravy was not usually offered. The staff were very friendly and helpful and special thanks to the man on reception who advised us on room request for our next visit. He also recorded the request. Our visit was in January to February and the weather was good for the time of year. We have 2 bookings already made to return to the hotel and are looking forward to the next one later in the year. Lovely location for the beach and lovely hotel. It’s about 25 mins walk along the beach into Nerja or 1 euro on the bus from outside the hotel (ran hourly pay cash on bus). Food was good but as in all hotels we have stayed in could be hotter. Caves nearby are well worth visiting but there are a lot of steps. We caught the road train which included museum and VR film both excellent. Hotel was clean and daily cleaning was excellent. Bus station is a few stops either side of the road which surprised us. Caught bus to Frigliana from there and was 1 euro 35 and was worth visiting. Nerja itself is lovely with lots of small shops and cafes.

Lovely rooms great staff and nice food good location with everthing nearby bus service near if you dont like the walk into town supermarkets across the road lovely warm pool outside with gym sauna indoors couldnt find a fault with the place everything was excellent
