If you are going to Mayo Clinic, there is no better place to stay then Kahler Grand! It is connected to the clinic by the subway or a simple walk across the street. The rooms are clean, updated & very comfortable. Parking is also convenient & connected to the hotel. Restaurants are within the hotel, subway system or a short walk. Staff are always friendly, helpful & kind! Mayo wheelchairs are available for use ( to & from the clinic & in the hotel) if needed. There is a swimming pool & workout area also.

I have stayed here many times. This time i stayed two nights and had to have maintenence in my room both nights.
The furst night my phone didnt work and my furnace was on ac and ut was 58 degrees in my room. I did nit have an option to change it to heat.
The maintenance man came and got it on furnace. I set it for 66 degrees as i am a cardiav patient and cannot tolerate heat.
It would nit stop warming up the room, and when i git back from Mayo Clinic, it was 74 degrees and getting warmer. Another maintenance man was sent to my room and was able to fix it so it stayed at the temp it was set on.
The majority of my time there, the room was either freezing or very warm.
I expected better with the fee i paid.
I have more appointments and a surgery scheduled and am nit sure i will risk that issue again by staying at the Kahler, even though it is my hotel of choice in Rochester.

The room was fairly spacious, very clean, very comfortable, and seemed modernized. The bathroom was a very nice size. It was quiet and the hotel's location is probably the best for Mayo Clinic. I didn't need to go outside for days (it was -0 outside so this was a big deal). The hotel lobby and common areas are VERY dated. This was an issue for much of Rochester but I hear they intend to work on this. Mayo Clinic on the other hand is very modern and runs like a well-oiled machine. I was charged twice for Valet parking despite only using it once so make sure and review your receipt.

Excellent choice for our trip! very conveniently located to Mayo Clinic and shopping area. One doesn’t need to use the outdoors as the hotel is connected to any of the above through a “subway” level. The hotel is historically rich but was updated in a clean and functional manner. Highly recommend !

The room was remodeled; however, it was hot and stuffy in the room. The heating system was older and so we didn't tried to turn off the heat but it didn't seem to work. We opened the windows, which had no screens, but still no airflow. No fans. The tub had a slow drain after a shower. The bed was nice and firm. Great location downtown Rochester next to Mayo Clinic and restaurants and shopping.

Location convenient, renovation done fairly well for age of building. Bed comfortable, late morning shower lacking hot water. Refrigerator/microwave cabinet a little beat up. Food smells in the hallway.

When a hotel is sought for its lovely pool, and we call the customer service line to affirm pool availability, it is not okay to arrive and be told that the pool is closed and has been for a week. That undermines our reason for choosing the hotel and makes a mockery of our advance confirmation.

We missed not being able to use the pool, no hot tub, no continental breakfast. Other motels in the area provided these and at a price of $80 per night versus $111 plus $17 for parking. Parking should have been free to guests!

Parking was an additional $16, which was not advertised. I felt that overall it was not a good value for the price versus other hotels in Rochester. That being said, the room was clean, comfortable, and quiet.
