Baymont by Wyndham Valdosta at Valdosta Mall

Not a bad place to stay if you aren't used to something better. Our stay in Valdosta was last second and we were limited on choices. We picked Baymont based on reviews, offered amenities, and pictures. What we didn't see is the run down furniture, the fact that their pool is still closed due to COVID when most other hotels in the area are open, and the fact that there was only toast, yogurt, cold cereal, and instant oatmeal offered for the "included breakfast". I can say that at least the bed was very comfortable. As a last resort hotel, not bad. But if you have time to plan, spend just a bit more and go somewhere else.

This was by far one of the worst hotels I have been in for years. As a travel business owner, I have done some extensive traveling and had amazing experiences. This hotel was one of the worst. The first room I was in was filthy! There was dust and dirt on every area in the room. The shower fixtures were loose and noisy when the water was on. The floor, although not carpeted, had not been swept nor mopped in a while. My daughter's socks were so dirty from walking across the floor. I called the front desk and the clerk stated he would have housekeeping come in and deep clean the next morning. He offered to put me in another room, but I had been driving for 17 hours and was too exhausted. The next day I left out to meet family and returned to a partially cleaned room and the shower rod was broken. There was a sticky note on the mirror stating such. I called the desk again and was moved to another room. New room, same condition. I was over it! I took pictures of what I saw as proof and couldn't wait to check out. I will NOT suggest this hotel to any of my customers!

Staff was nice and helpful. The first room i was given was dirty, there was an ashtray with ashes and it smell like someone had just finished smoking in there. The bathroom was super dirty and the ac was not working. I did appreciate the staff was able to switch me to a different room and that one was clean. If you're staying just to rest and keep going is a good spot and very affordable.

The bed was super comfortable. The staff were all very accommodating and friendly. I would stay again.

I was disappointed from the moment I entered the room since ******* gave it a rating of 8 out of 10. If my reservation was nonrefundable, I would have left. The room is worn out. The door and door frame are visibly dirty, banged up and it doesn't close properly. The floor not only has damage, it is warped from water damage or mopping. There is no finished edge between the laminate and the bathroom threshold. I cleaned all the surfaces and picked up a lot of dirt and dust. I would not walk on the floor without shoes on. The linens are clean, but the sheets have holes in them. This is not an excellent place as others have called it. I must side with the naysayers. I would not stay here again.

I think they should clean better. There was hair on the nightstand and in the bathroom and there is a musty odor in both the rooms I was in. More blankets would be good as well, I used my car blanket although I did not go back to the desk to ask for one. Seriously, a lower priced hotel should not mean it isn’t clean.

The pictures online make this place look decent. When we got into our room, it was nothing like what we saw online. Floors were dirty, bathtub had bugs, nasty looking stains on the wall, busted ceilings and the door looked like it had been kicked in, the room had a musty smell, and the ac unit sounded like a tractor starting every time it shut on. We only needed the room for one night and we got in from driving late, so we just ****** it up for the few hours we needed to sleep, otherwise we would have left and tried another nearby hotel. Would not recommend at all!

Overall it was ok for passing through. The staff was super friendly and check in was easy. The room was ok a few spots you can tell haven’t been cleaned in a while. The bed was very comfy, plenty of pillows. The towels did have some stains and tears. Fine for a one night stop, but wouldn’t stay multiple days.
