Wayanad Wild - Rainforest Lodge by CGH Earth

It is one of the places where you actually want to take out time and write a review even if when it’s a month late. Whenever we searched for a getaway in Wayanad, this resort was always visible on all the travel apps. However we never thought of booking it as Google showed this to be a 3-star property. And we didn’t want to spend anything lot of money for 3-star listed property. But we were so wrong. For March long weekend we wanted to book something last minute. We called multiple resorts but every place was full or super expensive. Then we called CGH Earth. From that phone conversation onwards I was impressed. They provided us the best last minute discounted deal for a deluxe room. I would recommend everyone to book it directly here. The resort is nestled in a dense forest which is 30 minutes away from the main highway, where our cars were parked. We were hesitant to park it there however the hospitality and the amenities at the parking assured us that it was a good resort. Check in experience was good. We requested for a good view room. Even though almost all the deluxe rooms have very similar view, I found 307 to be the best. Rooms, including bathroom were great. Balcony was picturesque. No tvs - which was actually amazing. Toiletries were eco luxurious. There were lots of complimentary activities for both the adults and the kids, which kept us occupied. These ranged from night walk (super good), morning walk (decent), jungle mountain hike (adventurous). Additionally there was an activity room with the regular carrom, chess, etc. (we weren’t able to use) and a swimming pool (super awesome location). Last but not the least, not really fond of Kerala cuisine as a vegetarian, I was least looking forward to the food. I was so so wrong. It was the best food I ever had in a resort. Never expected Kerala buffet spread to be so good. Adding to the quality of food, the hospitality won our hearts. And not just in restaurants. But everywhere (reception, activities, housekeeping, even regular walks in the resort we were greeted with a smile and ready to help behavior). We stayed for two nights and formed a bond with the staff, who all came to drop us off while we were leaving. It was an amazing experience. We would really love to visit this place again, and also other CGH Earth properties. At times, we really felt it was overall better than Taj. Only missing piece was the Spa.

Exceptional experience! The rooms were amazing and the food was top notch. The resort is located in middle of forest so it was quiet and calm, between the trees and forest birds and animals. Would recommend to try all their activities (specially evening trek) if planning to go. Special mention to their Hospitality - 5star - We’ve been to Taj properties multiple times which is known for their Hospitality but CGH Earth outperformed in this area. Would highly recommend to visit - easy road trip drive from Bangalore.

The hospitality is so good. The candle light dinner which was arranged on the first day near the woods was awesome. The buffet food was yummy. The swimming pool area was best in all. The games were fun to play. The shopping experience was also great. It has been informed already that there might be leaches, ticks, poisonous snakes. So it is advisable to walk only on the concrete path way. The staff was quick to respond to all our requests. All in all it's a different and good experience in the woods.

The quick two-day getaway proved worthwhile, thanks to the excellent service from all staff. A special shoutout for arranging a small birthday surprise on short notice, about 2 hours. Due to the property’s location, there isn't easy access to a bakery, but the restaurant team and chef ensured a quick bake of a delicious cake. Thanks to the team for their efforts!

From April 4th to April 7th, 2024, I embarked on a delightful escape to the CGH Earth Valley Resort with my family, which includes my wife, a child, and an infant. Nestled deep within the jungle, approximately 2.5 km from the parking area, the journey to the resort presents a unique challenge due to the rugged terrain. However, this thrilling ride through the untamed paths added a touch of adventure to our trip. A tip for those traveling with infants: securing them in your lap in the front seat might be a wise choice. Upon arrival, any memories of the bumpy ride were immediately overshadowed by the resort’s heartwarming reception. The staff’s exceptional hospitality and constant readiness to assist truly stood out, making us feel incredibly welcome. Being enveloped by the dense jungle, the resort offered us an oasis of tranquility, far removed from the hustle and bustle of city life. It was a celebration of greenery, with lush foliage as far as the eye could see, providing a serene and pollution-free environment. The accommodations, including the rooms and bathrooms, were impeccably clean and well-maintained. An interesting find was the organic tulsi green tea sachets provided in our room—a must-try for any guest. A helpful hint for fellow travelers: ensure your balcony doors are securely closed when you’re away to prevent curious monkeys from making themselves at home in your room. The culinary experience was a significant highlight of our stay, encompassing all meals—breakfast, lunch, and dinner—***** with delightful evening snacks. Each meal was a testament to the resort’s commitment to quality and taste, ensuring a delightful culinary journey throughout our stay.

What a wonderful place to connect with nature in the middle of our southern Indian tour. Staff, food, accomodation all 5 star. David was so knowledgable of Indian wildlife, Ajith’s cookery demonstrations were so informative (big thank you). Thank you to every member of staff for making our stay truly memorable. This is a place that cannot be compared, unique!

Apart from the road up to the hotel it was an excellent experience and totally different to any hotel we had previously stayed at. All staff were very knowledgeable and very helpful. Food was brilliant. A must visit hotel for all wildlife lovers.

It was a Wonderful holiday for me and my Family. Brilliant location in the middle of a forest, very scenic, Excellent rooms - kept very neat and clean, good variety food and fantastic Staff. They really go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and the service is very prompt. Nice activities to keep the kids occupied. Overall great experience.

Beautiful place in the heart of the forrest. Definitely recommend the nature walks in morning afternoon and night by Naturalist Umesh, he really makes the experience unforgettable!! Food options are limited but whatever they have tastes yum!
