Meandros Boutique & Spa Hotel - Adults Only

The rooms and the facilities were first class. The quality of food and choices were always excellent. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Our holiday in Zakinthos was exceptional mainly because we stayed at the wonderful Meandros.

The food and service are consistently excellent at this hotel. The pool is lovely and the beautiful beach just a 10 minute walk away, maybe less! There are restaurants nearby but we rarely dine out because the hotel food is really good with plenty of choice. I always book myself some "therapy"; a massage in their spa. It never disappoints. The staff in the hotel and spa make you feel like a valued customer, nothing is too much for them. You can book lots of different experiences through the hotel, kayaking, boat trips, car hire, quad hire etc. There are lots of choices and you have peace of mind that you will be using a reputable supplier. Thank you for another excellent holiday at Meandros.

The flights and transfers were fine but the accommodation and surrounding facilities were below par as it was the end of the summer season. The Meandros is a beautiful hotel with a stunning pool area, However, it certainly isn’t 5 star. On arrival we had to write down on paper our credit card details to be able to charge to our room which I felt was inappropriate and could not use our room safe unless we paid for a key! A shower over a bath with a curtain in a dated bathroom with no proper ventilation isn’t exactly luxurious. We also had to use a towel to cover the floor drain hole to stop the stench. We stayed on the last week of the season for a much needed break. The area was very quiet as most shops and bars had shut down (not the hotels fault), for the end of summer. We were not made aware of this by Jet2 when booking the holiday. Unfortunately, it was obvious that the hotel was preparing for closure; we were told on numerous occasions that things were not available as it was “the end of season”. For example: I couldn’t have a cocktail I wanted as they didn’t want to open a new bottle. There were no ‘plain’ tea bags as it was “the end of season” etc. All of these things individually are a bit annoying but when put together, we began to feel cheated as we had paid full price. We were supposed to have a ‘show breakfast’ where your omelette was cooked to order. This was only available the first two days. On the whole, the food was quite good with plenty of choice but the last two days, the choice of food options were very poor, obviously left overs from the previous night. They ran out of eggs so people went without and the bread was stale. But on the plus side there were plenty of leftover carrots and mixed veg!!!!!! The Jet 2 rep was told of this and went to reception to talk to the manager who was not available at the time. We were informed that they would speak to us later but that never happened. There were other couples there with the same complaints, one poor couple got moved to another hotel as they were told the Meandros was closing! One of the things that will stick in our minds the most is the abundance of cats roaming around. Now I totally understand that they live there and are well looked after but they are constantly in the restaurant climbing on chairs and people , one was stopped from getting on the trays of food . The staff do remove them sometimes but only if the customers complain. The total lack of hygiene in this circumstance is not acceptable. Overall, our stay was disappointing, the staff were kind and courteous but many things that were on the web pages were just not available. If the price had reflected this it would have been a different outcome. The end of season feel was also obvious when visiting some of the Islands beauty spots where most of the facilities were also closed. We will certainly not book the last week of October (half term) again.

We stayed here for a week. We had the master suite with private pool with garden view, the room and space was beautiful. This hotel is absolutely beautiful. The staff are absolutely amazing. Every one extremely helpful and polite. We especially enjoyed the company of both bar guys. Reception are excellent. We booked directly through the hotel. This was cheaper and we got free direct transfers, free access to the spa. I had 3 spa treatments over the week and my husband had one as well as used the gym and spa everyday. It was the best massage I have ever had!! We rented a quad bike for the week to explore the island. The holiday as a whole was absolutely amazing. It was end of season so it was quiet, but we loved it. We 100% would come back. Thank you to the staff that made this happen.

Excellent stay at the meandros boutique. Room was clean and comfortable and cleaned fresh daily. Food was top notch and always plenty to choose from depending on your tastes. Pool area relaxing and no rush for beds etc. Every member of staff we encountered were pleasant and willing to service your required needs. Special mention to Dennis 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🦢 at the poolside bar who was legendary and assisted by the very well mannerd Blake 👍🏻 Would definitely stay here again and recommend to others. My only moan, and it's nothing to do with the boutique itself, is the amount of racquet that comes from Antonio's pool bar late in to the night. If your after an early night (like we were some nights). We were staying in room 304 which faced this place. Repeat, its not the hotel fault but thought I'd mention it, so please don't let this review be about that. Meandros is faultless in my opinion and we thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to Greece. 10 out of 10 for us.

My friend and I enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We booked via easyJet holidays and were delighted upon arrival to have been given a free upgrade to a Grand Suite which meant we had our own rooms. Every member of staff encountered were pleasant and helpful. The room itself was well appointed, I particularly enjoyed the balcony with an excellent view. As a previous review testified, there was at times an unpleasant smell in the bathroom which I put down to the drain in the floor. Note there were no USB sockets so you will need travel adaptors if coming from the UK. The pool was great and never too busy, (so no rush for sun beds, but perhaps that’s also due to the time of year). It was really helpful having both reception and the hotel’s concierge on WhatsApp - they both responded to requests really quickly and Ian, (the concierge) provided great recommendations for restaurants and excursions, he even stopped by to speak to us at the pool. We were half board with breakfast and dinner included. No complaints about the food, breakfast had a good variety of choices (hot and cold), and a chef on-hand to cook eggs to choice. There was always something different to try at dinner each night (including some Greek specialties). Cocktails by the pool from the pool bar were also great, with ‘classic’ cocktails costing €6, which I didn’t think was bad value. I visited the spa once for a massage. The treatment itself was great and very personable. The treatment meant I could also make use of the other facilities - the sauna and jacuzzi were good, however the indoor pool was not heated as per the website. Overall we had a very enjoyable stay here, the location is ideal with a 10-15min walk from Kalamaki beach, supermarkets within 5 minutes, and situated really close to Kalamaki and Laganas for other bars and restaurants. Whilst it seemed like the season was coming to an end in some aspects of the island, we were still able to go on a boat tour to turtle island and on a kayaking tour, (would also recommend both if you’re inclined!). We stayed in August for 5 nights and had a fantastic stay. We'd booked a room with a private pool, and on check in (9pm) found that although the room itself was lovely - large bed, sitting area and nice decor, the pool was overlooked and seemed to be the main route for the main pool users (room 110). I went straight to reception and asked that if there were any other pool rooms with availability, would they consider moving us. I was told that someone from reservations would contact us the next day. I hadn't held much hope on there being another (more private) room available, but the next morning we were contacted and moved right away. We moved to room 104 which is at the rear and overlooks the garden - stunning! The room immediately felt better and was perfect for us. I was honestly so impressed with the staff and the efficiency in dealing with us. The pool got the sunall day. Yes, you have to pay for water from the mini bar, but I feel it is worth the convenience of having fresh, cold water. We actually used our mini bar to the maximum, taking advantage of the convenience and relaxing by the pool with ice cold drinks. The rooms are cleaned every day, mini bar restocked and towels changed. We would definitely return!

We have just returned from a ten night stay in meandros and would definitely stay here again. The rooms are cleaned daily with fresh bedding and towels, the pool is beautiful and plenty of sun beds for everyone. The food was also really good and the staff make it that extra bit special by being so friendly, especially Blake and Dennis! The only couple of negatives we had were that the bathroom could do with a refurb, we stayed in a standard room with a pool view (room 403) and I feel like the bathroom was the let down, it’s quite old, the drains smell so we had to leave the bathroom door shut and the shower leaks out onto the floor making it very slippy. We would also be woken by the lift every morning as we were the room right next to it, it probably can’t be helped but it did wake us most mornings. Overall a really nice stay and would definitely recommend but if you want the five star experience you might be best opting for one of the grand or master suites
