If you are looking for a relaxing holiday in beautiful surroundings with great food and reat service then you could NOT do much better. A.G.V. s simply Outstanding . Ignore the 2 star rating as this professionally run family hotel oozes class. A real cut above most if not all competitors in the area without doubt. From the welcoming staff to the manicured gardens this place fails to disappoint. Paradise pure and simple. Congratulations Jimmy,Zula Chrissy and staff you surpassed all expectations and left us longing for our next visit. Without doubt one of the best hotels we've ever stayed at in Greece! Thank you all. Yamas Μαχλάς Facilities- Excellent Cleanliness - Cannot be beaten. Service - First class Location - Perfectly Quiet(10min walk to village) Food - Top Notch.

Where do i start! the location is wonderful, very peaceful and tranquil. Yes there are Cockerill's but they only add to the experience. To be honest we loved hearing them on a morning. The hotel itself is absolutely spotlessly clean and the team of ladies who tend to the rooms are second to none. They do a outstanding job and nothing is too much for them. Very polite & courteous. The pool area is very user friendly and is based just next to the bar area where you can buy drinks or Food all day long. The sun beds are to be honest the best we have had at any hotel. the owner has obviously spent a lot of money to ensure the comfort of his guests. The food that is available is all made to order onsite and really is worth a try. A personal favorite of mine was the Tuna Pizza which to be honest always did me for both Tea & Supper! they are huge portions so are not for the light hearted :) The bar staff are very attentive and are always happy to help you with anything you may want. On occasions we had a night on the Balcony and only ventured down for a meal or a quick drink but when we chose to do this we found it very peaceful. Yes there is music during the daytime hours ( but not in your face) but on a evening things quieten down as the night time draws in so it was lovely just to sit and listen to the night sounds and admire the Views over the mountains. I cant mention the hotel without special mentions for Jimmy, Soula and Mother who i have to say are some of the friendliest people I have met. Nothing and I mean Nothing was too much for any of them. Perfect Hosts for a perfect hotel. The area itself is perfect for us. A quick 10 minute walk into town and you can enjoy the food and atmosphere that Alykes has to offer . There is plenty of choice for food & Drink but a personal favorite of ours was the "Pine Cone" which is only 5 minutes walk from the hotel. if you are in the town and don't fancy the walk back there are always the horse and Carts that come out after the sun has gone down & at only 10 Euros is great value. The beaches are second to none, so clean and tranquil. A short walk into Alykanas harbour and you may be lucky ( as we were) and see the turtles that often frequent the area. Another very positive experience for us , what's not to like? Fantastic hotel , Brilliant Hosts , great food , great pool , great atmosphere and all set in a beautiful area of Alykes. Roll on September 2024.

Situated in the lovely town of Alykes, just a 10 minute walk into the centre and the beach is this lovely family run hotel. From the lovely pool area to the pool side bar which serves a great selection of delicious homemade food which is freshly prepared when you order, cocktails and a large selection of drinks of your choice is also available. There is also a mini market shop where you can pick up souvenirs, water, and the necessities you may need. Jimmy the owner is always around to help you giving tips and advice of where to go, what to do etc. The rooms are spotlessly clean and spacious, the ladies that look after them attend to them everyday and are very helpful. Great balconies looking over the beautiful grounds and mountains. Jimmy's sister Soula is there aswell to help and is very attentive to your needs. Overall this is a lovely place to stay for your holiday from wandering down into the town for the day, to catching the horse drawn carriage back to Jimmy's if you're lucky enough you'll get the Cowboy who sings and whistles all the way back, then sit in the relaxing atmosphere of Jimmy's bar or just spend the day relaxing round the beautiful pool. What more can we say.... Laszlo and Kate.

The apartments themselves are spacious and clean. No complaints there. Its a long walk to the centre and seafront and if its hot weather, it feels even further. A lovely complex but after being charged way more than where we stayed elsewhere this September for the Greek tourist tax plus safe. then receiving the 'hard sell' from owner Jimmy several times throughout the holiday in regard to purchasing the breakfast they provide, and groceries, beer etc from his mini market,(at a price!) we certainly wont be returning. This is not because we are mean or on a budget but because we don't want to be ripped off and we certainly don't want to be badgered about where we should eat breakfast and where we should shop. I think if Jimmy is so desperate for breakfast customers, maybe he should be a B and B accommodation rather than self-catering.

When we arrived I was pleasantly surprised the pool area, bar looked nice and the sun loungers were the best I have ever seen. Our room on first impressions seemed typically greek, basic but very clean. We were on the ground floor and had 2 balcony areas. One at the rear that got the morning sun and one slightly over looking the pool. Negatives about the room I personally found the bed very uncomfortable, in fact half way through our stay I joked that I would rather sleep on the sun loungers. The Cockerells are a bloody nightmare even with doors closed they woke us up at 4 am I would definitely recommend ear plugs. I know some say this is a Greek thing I have travelled to many different islands and mainland and this is by far the worst I have experienced! Also our fridge was very noisy ! The self catering facilities weren't the best! We like to make a bit of breakfast and sometimes lunch but I was shocked how basic everything was. The last 4-5 self catering apartments we have stayed in have had a dish cloth a small amount of wash liquid and a tea towel. There us nothing here! Be warned there is also no hairdryer. I haven't packed a hairdryer in years and this really caught me out. Positives about the place, food if you want lunch etc.. was very good. A pint of mythos was a little bit more expensive but not much. We found the stroll into town nice helps you build up an appetite. Jimmy was helpful when it came to booking boat trips, and we were picked up at the Hotel each time rather than having to walk into town. All the staff were very friendly and accommodating. And the cleanliness of the hotel and grounds was superb. If I was to be asked would I stay here again, the answer would be no. Unfortunately the lack of sleep when your away to relax really let's this hotel down.

The reviews focus a lot of the extra costs - the hotel does charge an extortionate amount for air con and other extras such as the safe. Food and drink is more expensive than the supermarket or other hotels and tavernas but you dont have to partake. Its quite a walk to the resort but if you like walking then its fine. You can get a horse drawn carriage back in the evening for €10. We also asked to keep our room and were told it was €70 but had to vacate by 3pm!! We didn't bother. Jimmy the owner does have his 'gang' of favourite Brits - the ones who sit around the bar spending money. We've all seen them if you travel . All that said this hotel is lovely. A gorgeous location and spotless rooms. Yes, the bathroom needs modernisation. You will hear Cockerells and dogs barking but this is typical in a more rural Greek location. We certainly didn't hear them if we kept the doors closed. The staff are lovely and the reviews mention rudeness - this is just the Greek nature. The pool is fantastic and fabulous sunbeds. A must hotel for people used to Greece and its quirkiness

It didn't go well from the start. When asked to move rooms it seemed only paying more money would work. Don't think the manager liked that we contacted TUI but after all our contract was with them. We loved the modernised rooms and eventual mountain viewsbut our trip was marred by this experience. The manager needs to decide which market he wants to attract here and hopefully this review will give others a balanced view of what to expect
