We found the staff at this hotel to be extremely helpful, friendly, polite and accommodating with all the requests that we made. The weather was cool in the evenings so we slept with our fully screened balcony door open, but because we were close to the kitchen extractor fan, the noise and the cooking smells disturbed us in the night. We asked to be moved and were immediately given a lovely, clean and comfortable new room with a little kitchenette and an extra bed as requested. Kettles and cups were available in all the rooms. Extra pillows turned up without being asked for, and the linen and towels were changed regularly. Everything was very clean and tidy throughout the hotel. We had breakfast there each day. This was adequate, presented well and catered for several nationalities, but there weren’t many changes throughout the week, it was however, enough to keep us going. We loved the location of the hotel because it was very rural, and there were a lot of nice countryside and woodland walks nearby. We also walked to Garakas beach where the turtles come to nest, as well as to several other bays in the area. One of the highlights of our week were the abundance of wild flowers, blooming all around the olive trees. It was a wonderful natural paradise for bees and butterflies and wild birds. There were a few good tavernas and other places to eat nearby, so we did not eat in the hotel as the food and drink prices were a bit more expensive. We loved the sound of the owl in the night that had made its home near the hotel, and also the crowing of the cockerels in the morning from all the little local farms. We only swam in the pool once, but the area was clean, the sunbeds plentiful and comfortable. The pool was also very clean and well maintained and there were plenty of umbrellas to go around. Pool towels could be hired for €5 each. This was returnable when you took your pole back. We thoroughly enjoyed our week at the Belvidere hotel and would recommend it to anyone wanting a comfortable, quiet, countryside holiday.
