Came here last year and was spot on. Same again this year. Came 2 weeks later this year and you can tell the difference. As a few of the guests were younger drinkers and clubbers last year. Very quiet this year. Just how we like it. The mattress was firm. Kettle and 2 ring hob fridge freezer. Plenty storage. Plenty hot water for the shower. Safe was €17. Air con €70 for the week. Stayed on the top floor. Very quiet away from the pool. Lovely balcony. Apartment was very spacious. Hotel could not do enough for us. Cleaners come in most days if not every day. Security on at night times. Angela at the pool snack bar is very efficient and friendly. Very good food and good value for money. Pool snack bar open from 10am daily until late. Local mini supermarket is 5 mins walk. The main ***** is 5 mins walk. You can’t hear the noise from the *****. We hired a scooter for €20 a day from drive pro rentals which is located en route to the *****. Canny hire place and very competitive. Well worth a stop and enquire. The ***** caters for every one. Little train in to Zante is €8 each way. Lots of sight seeing en route. Kalimaki is 5 minute drive away and approx 20 minutes walk. Smaller version of Laguna. Lots of shops restaurants pubs and clubs. Beach is €15-20 for 2 sun-beds and an umbrella. Although many food places offer free sun-beds in return for buying a snack. So well worth shopping around. An all round decent clean family oriented hotel with a great pool. Some rooms have been refurbished. I think there is more planned in. I enquired about a toaster and was given one to use during my stay. So much to do here. Go karting water sports horse riding etc. I have read the comments on other reviews. Try it for yourself. We did and came back. Rita who runs this place is very clear. If you have an issue speak up and they can fix it. If they don’t know about it how can they rectify it. Definitely returning next year.

DO NOT BOOK!!!!! Please do not book this hotel me and my boyfriend booked 10 days here last minute due to our precious holiday being cancelled and didn’t want to waste the time off work , however we were unpleasantly surprised , to start off with we were told we had a nice room upgrade , I didn’t know upgrade meant coming home to a room full of water which ruined our personal belongings , lights that never turned of so you can’t sleep ,Broken and dangerous switches, Windows that don’t close or lock with clear access into the property ,Front door doesn’t close properly. Back doors don’t close or lock properly (probably why the leak came in) ,Dirty / blood stained walls,Paint all over the place pealing away and falling onto clothes ,Not changed bed sheets/towels for days ,A shower that wasn’t capable of washing soap suds away or a capable hook to be able to wash without using your hands to hold it ,Rusty and dirty taps ,Shelves that didn’t hold anything and was hanging of the wall,A broken toilet paper holder ,A broken towel rail in the bathroom ,Rusty sharp drain in the bathroom ,Electric sockets broken and hanging of the walls ,Toilet door didn’t close And dirty rusty cutlery and crockery and an aircon we laid €10 a night that DIDNT WORK!! Amongst all of this the staff were also very rude and very unhelpful when we asked them anything. We ended up moving to another hotel in the end because it was THAT bad , then got accused of stealing a hairdryer as I checked out .

The location of the hotel is brilliant, right near the ***** and the beach. The pool is clean and a good size. The pool bar is a good addition too. The rooms were basic but clean. After the first night we noticed a strange fishy smell in our room and couldn’t figure out where it came from, we raised it with reception but were dismissed. Our fridge wasn’t working and when we told reception they told us is was brand new so must be working, when they finally came to check it, the fuse had tripped. The fishy smell got worse and eventually all the electrics stopped working, we again went to reception and security came to check it, they confirmed there was an electrical fault and it would be fixed the next day. We were left to sleep in a stinky room with no electric. We were not offered to move room. We had to ask reception the next day to move us rooms, although they were reluctant, they did let us move. I think we were just unlucky with the original room but it could have been handled better by reception staff. All in all the hotel is good value for the cost

Was pleasantly surprised at our stay at Sunshine Hotel after other poor reviews. Stayed as a group of 4 and found the hotel a convenient location near the ***** and beach, yet still relatively quiet. Highlight of the hotel was the pool area and bar, always able to find a sun bed and Angelina was a star always making sure we were looked after.

Don’t go to this hotel. Security has anger management issues, staff will come into your room un announced, only went away with one friend and we were having a chat on the balcony past 11 at night and got a flashlight shone at us while he screamed at us to keep the noise down. Will charge you 10 euro a day for air con that doesn’t work. woke up stuck to the beds. Staff tried to charge 40 euro for my friend that waited in the reception area while i got changed for me having a “guest” and you will be threatened to be kicked out if you make friends with girls or boys around the pool and go to their rooms for pres. If you’re wanting a fun holiday to zante don’t go to this hotel it felt like a prison. the only good thing is it is close to the ***** and did nice cocktails.

Before we came we were worried with some of the negative reviews. I think sometimes though people book a 2 star hotel expecting a 5 star. Location really good, 2 minute walk to the main ***** and a supermarket on the corner. Pool is nice and the exterior of the hotel is nice, lady at the pool bar is very friendly. It does say none of your own food and drink at the pool but we had water and nobody said anything and we just made sandwiches in the room if we didn’t eat at the pool bar. We were worried we wouldn’t get sun beds as you see videos of people fighting for them, on the first morning we went down at 9:30 and were the first there. Don’t think it every got full. Rooms are basic. The beds are pretty hard which was probably the down side as we were looking forward to being in our own bed. You only get 1 pillow too. We didn’t use the cooking facilities in the room but they are pretty basic. It’s a shame the shower wasn’t fixed to the wall as it was pretty powerful, probably stronger than our shower at home. It did also flood the bathroom but there was a drain and the floor is tiled. Receptionists were fine, we didn’t have any issues like others did and we got our deposit back. When we checked in the girls next door were noisy and the man said he would have a word if it was an issue, which it wasn’t as people are on their holidays. Mixture of old and young at the hotel, so not a proper party hotel as I’d thought, it was pretty chill. You do have to pay extra for aircon etc but we were aware of this before booking.

I’m supposed to still be at the Sunshine hotel now but booked a £200 flight early to get out of there. At 9am me and my female friend was woken up by a man standing at the edge of our beds screaming at us to go to reception and he also took our room key so we had to keep our room open with all our belongings in. When we get to reception he proceeds to scream in our faces saying the security guard claimed we were making noise at a time we were not even at the hotel. He refused to look at cctv to confirm this and said he believed security. We were given a warning and said anymore noise from us and he will kick us out. Even though as I said we were not at the hotel when said noise was made which he refused to check. We did not feel safe at all at this hotel after a 50 something year old man stormed into two 20 year old girls rooms at 9am over a bit of noise. A lot of people who stayed there also had similar stories yet they never back up their claims. They are doing this as a scam and take advantage of young people on holiday to free up the rooms and make more money. DO NOT book this hotel worst experience of our life. The toilet also broke every single day and there was no warm water or hand soap. All the water in the room was also salt water. Rudest staff I’ve ever met, not there to help and not interested in what you have to say, all very hostile. Keep away

All was well for the first few days, we had a few problems with the toilet the man at reception had to come up every day to sort it, the beds were ok, the pool facilities were good probably the best part of the hotel. However one morning me and my friend were woken up to one of the male workers standing at the foot of our beds screaming at us for to get to reception and snatched the key off the wall, half asleep we didn’t really know what was going on so just went down to reception had to leave our room door wide open as we weren’t sure if we was going to get our key back, when we got to reception we were met with screaming and aggressiveness! We were screamed at for having a noise complaint made against our room at 3 am, we tried explaining that we were out at this time and when I tried to provide evidence he said don’t care and continued to scream that he's loosing business because of this. So I wouldn’t bother staying here, paid £766 to use a pool and be screamed at.
