Between the cruise ships, the spring breakers, and the visiting East Coast families, Nassau is one of the crazy-busiest vacation islands you'll ever see. It's often referred to as Nassau/Paradise Island, encompassing the adjacent island over the bridge where mega-resort Atlantis and a few other big hotels are located. However, Nassau itself is located on New Providence Island. Its big hotels have undergone a tremendous amount of renovation lately as well, particularly on famous Cable Beach, site of the renovated Westin Nassau, Sheraton Nassau, and SuperClubs Breezes.

In addition to Prince George Wharf, which everyone knows because of the cruise ships, downtown Nassau's main tourism centers are the Straw Market, Bay Street, and Rawson Square. Favorite marine activities include snorkeling the reefs, kiteboarding, deep-sea fishing, and, for families, a boat ride to Blue Lagoon Island to interact with dolphins.
