It may not quite have the international tourism cachet of Montreal or Vancouver, but Toronto is unquestionably the beating heart of Canada, with a healthy economy and an unexpected arts emphasis. Proof of this can be found all over Yonge Street, Toronto's main street, site of major events and home of theaters as well as shops and restaurants. Other shopping spots include the Design Exchange and St. Lawrence Market Complex. If you only have a couple of days to see this city, the can't-miss sights are: Ontario Science Center, Royal Ontario Museum, Casa Loma (an Edwardian castle built by a leading financier), Toronto Zoo, and the iconic CN Tower. Oh, and of course the Hockey Hall of Fameor, for maximum excitement, an actual Toronto Maple Leafs home game.
