As Germany's financial center, Frankfurt gets a lot of business travelers, especially in association with the various large-scale trade fairs it hosts regularly throughout the year. It's located on the River Main, which divides it into north and south districts. It has the largest train station in Germany, and one of the busiest. It also has a busy airport.

As modern as Frankfurt is, there are remnants of the city before its turbulent 20th century. The Sachsenhausen is the "old quarter," in the city center, with a row of museums on Schaumainkai street. Goethehaus is where the writer and poet Goethe was born.
