Branson, Missouri, lays claim to the title, "The Live Music Show Capital of the World"and as far as the central U.S. goes, it's possibly the family-friendliest tourist destination of all. It has retro amusement park Silver Dollar City, Ripley's Believe It or Not! museum, Fantastic Caverns, and, now in its 50th year, Shepherd of the Hills outdoor playhouse. More than 50 theaters present everything from comedy to Elvis tribute shows to the new Legend of Kung Fu. And just outside of town, the Ozarks offer fishing, hiking, biking, andparticularly in the Branson Lakes areathe specialty sport of geocaching. Mark Twain National Forest is a popular summertime camping spot.
