The city-state of Monaco
, particularly its Monte Carlo region, is known as a jet-setter's favorite. This is due in part to its minimal income tax policies, and in part to its idyllic Riviera setting. Countless European athletes, millionaires, and celebrities consider Monte Carlo a home away from home, and they have since the days of Grace Kelly and even before that.
Monte Carlo's more petite than its reputation might suggest; indeed, the town proper is only one road. Casinos, über-chic nightspots, and restaurants are set along the cliffs overlooking the mega-yachts below. For a fun day trip, drive down the coast to the Cote d'Azuror head the other direction to the Italian Riviera.
