The scenery is beautiful, but the restrooms in the scenic area are terrible. Management is inadequate, and the ticket sellers at the windows have poor service. If the restrooms and safety measures in the scenic area could be improved, it would be perfect.

The ticket price is excellent value! We used a three-day pass and went for two days. On the first day, we played from the afternoon until almost closing time. There were tons of interactive NPCs, various games, and a fantastic atmosphere. The night view was stunning, and the food and drinks inside were very reasonably priced. I would definitely bring my kids here if I have the chance.
It's quite fun; I visit this place every time I come. The only downside is that there's nowhere to charge your phone. There are plenty of outlets in Qingyuan Park, but not a single one here. You have to use a power bank, and it takes forever to charge your phone.

Director Wang Chaoge's "Only Henan"! Without relying on popular celebrities, you created the most moving stage with earthen walls and wheat fields. The tragic scene of dying to leave seeds in the train station theater, and the cross-temporal dialogue between historical figures in the fantasy city theater—every scene is both visually stunning and a spiritual cleansing. You have shown us that cultural confidence is the ultimate form of entertainment.
Having traveled a long way, I left wanting more. I never expected a theatrical performance to be so captivating, from the polished script to the actors' brilliant performances. The entire venue was also incredibly artistically designed, with delightful little surprises hidden in every detail, making it perfect for taking photos. Another noteworthy aspect was the staff's exceptionally warm and welcoming service; they proactively offered directions and were always smiling. Besides the main theater, the smaller theater was also excellent. I recommend a two-day visit, unless you're on a more relaxed pace.

Amazing. Easily a full day out. I went on a weekday in December meaning no crowds. Ended with a kungfu show. Highly recommended, and be prepared for some uphill hiking if you want to enjoy the full experience. The only thing to be aware of if taking public transport, it can be tricky to work out if you don't speak Chinese, and there were no buses coming back, so I had to negotiate a shared car with a private driver. Might be better to join a tour group even if it's just for the reliable transport.
The second stop on this four-city road trip in Henan was Dengfeng. The Shaolin Temple on Mount Song is famous to almost everyone. The temple itself is just the most famous part of the Shaolin Scenic Area, which is quite large. It's definitely worth a visit.

Having grown up watching "Justice Bao," how could I miss the Kaifeng Prefecture, the residence of Judge Bao, when visiting Kaifeng!
Don't miss the performances inside! The opening ceremony at 9 AM is incredibly immersive, the "Judge Bao's Case" drama in the main hall is highly realistic, and the "The Case of the Chariot at the Gate" holographic theater is technologically advanced. Our group dressed up as an empress, Nezha, a female knight… we couldn't even tell the dynasty anymore! We just traveled through time and space, causing chaos in Kaifeng Prefecture. I wonder if Judge Bao would scold us "monsters" [laughing emoji]. We enjoyed the performances and took lots of photos – so much fun!
After visiting Kaifeng Prefecture, head straight to the adjacent Judge Bao Temple. In the evening, take a cruise on the Grand Song Dynasty Imperial River, and then head to the Xisi Night Market for soup dumplings. If you have the energy, you can also visit the Qingming Riverside Landscape Garden or the Wansui Mountain Martial Arts City to see the evening fireworks and intangible cultural heritage performances like iron-smelting!
🎫Tickets: Adult ticket 65 yuan, student half price 32 yuan. Our 60 yuan Kaifeng annual pass was a great deal, offering a 30% discount on non-holidays and valid at 16 other scenic spots.
🚗Transportation: Super convenient transportation. Take tourist bus L606 directly; parking is very convenient near the South Gate.
I hired a guide, and the explanation was quite detailed. I gained a better understanding of the official history. I also caught a performance in the afternoon, which was a good experience. And I must say, the restrooms in the scenic area were very clean.

Jiaozuo Yuntai Mountain Scenic Area: Visit the summit of Yuntai Mountain, Zhuyu Peak (1297 meters above sea level), the origin of the saying "Where there are dogwood branches, one less person"; check out the glass walkway at Phoenix Ridge (haha, it's really not scary at all); visit Xiaozhaigou, and explore Tanpu Gorge, Longevity Peach Stone, Golden Dragon Lying on the Waves, Immortal Spring, and Tang King's Sword Testing Stone, etc.
Tanpu Gorge, also known as Xiaozhaigou, stretches for 2 kilometers and enjoys a mild climate with warm winters and cool summers. Due to abundant surface and groundwater from the north, as well as the joints and fissures in the local limestone and dolomite, Tanpu Gorge features high cliffs and deep valleys, with springs every three steps, waterfalls every five steps, and pools every ten steps, earning it the name "Tanpu River" (meaning "Pool and Waterfall Valley"). Walking upstream along the gorge, one encounters cascading waterfalls such as "Lover's Waterfall," "Golden Dragon Lying on the Waves," "Fountain of Youth," "Water Curtain Waterfall," and "Phoenix Tail String of Pearls," creating a picturesque scene. The most spectacular is the "Y-Shaped Waterfall," over ten meters high, with a pool five or six meters deep below, the waterfall and pool merging into one, a unique and breathtaking sight. Be sure to allocate at least 3 hours; the exhibits are incredibly informative!

We took our child on an educational trip and found our lovely tour guide, Xiaoya, for a VIP museum tour. Xiaoya was incredibly professional, knowledgeable, and highly skilled. The interactive live-action performance in ancient costumes was a lot of fun, a real treat for history buffs. The theme was related to the rebellion of the Turkic prince Mochuo during the reign of Empress Wu Zetian, and even brought tears to the eyes of longtime fans of Detective Dee. I went without dinner, and the plates they gave us weren't enough; a plate of fried rice would have been fine too, as my stomach was growling.

It is not only a pinnacle of ancient city gate architecture—its triple-tiered structure and five-phoenix tower paved the way for later palace designs—but also the ultimate stage for imperial ceremonies: the arrival of envoys from all nations and the enthronement of emperors all unfolded here, showcasing the grandeur of the Tang Dynasty. Its "double-tiered structure" became a model for East Asian capital city architecture, encapsulating a dual symphony of ancient Chinese political order and architectural aesthetics.
