Semporna is a typical tropical climate, hot all year round, but it will be a bit cooler at night. It sees more rainfall throughout the year than other parts of Malaysia. But the rainy season is very short and only lasts from November to January. Every year from May to September, it is the best season for turtle watching. Don’t miss it if the time is right. There are buses from Kota Kinabalu to Tawau, but it is a bumpy and uncomfortable 10 hour journey.

Flight is recommended and only costs from 20-60 USD. 40 minutes to Tawau, and 2 hours bus from Tawau to Semporna. AirAsia has 4 round trips per day, and 4 for Malaysia Airlines has four as well. From airport to downtown. Most resorts in this area offer pick-up service, or you can take taxi (95 MYR) or carpool (about 25 MYR) to the Semporna where there are many islands including the well-known Mabul, Kapalai, Bang Bang Island and Madin. In recent years, Tun Sakaran Marine Park is more and more popular for its beautiful scenery located at a high altitude. It is composed of 8 small islands, and doesn't have so many tourists making it a peaceful destination. Anything else interesting in Semporna? Of course. A coastal site is definitely known for the seafood. Semporna is the same story. Where? What to order? Let me show you
