date journey
Day 1 Chengdu People's Park->Kuixinglou Street->Tianfu Square->Wenshufang
Day 2 Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding->Qintai Ancient Path->Chengdu Museum
Day 3 Dujiangyan Scenic Area->Qingcheng Mountain
Day 4 Du Fu Thatched Cottage->Chengdu Polar Ocean Park

In 1911, People's Park was constructed in the heart of Chengdu. It's a fantastic spot for locals to talk and enjoy tea. You can really experience Chengdu residents' "slow life" when you visit. Once you reach to People's Park, you can play mahjong with a few close friends, order a cup of the perfumed tea that the residents love to drink, hang out in the sun and daydream, or visit the teahouse in the park like the locals.

Address: No. 9 Citang Street, Qingyang District, Chengdu City, Sichuan Province

Opening hours: 06:30-22:00

evaluate:

I came to Chengdu People's Park, and as soon as I stepped through the gate, I was attracted by the scene before me. In the garden, there are towering ancient trees with luxuriant branches and leaves, which seem to hold up a natural green umbrella, bringing a touch of coolness in the hot summer. Walking along the cobblestone road, the flowers and plants on the roadside are vying for beauty and colors. Butterflies are dancing among the flowers, and bees are busy flying among them, buzzing and making a lively atmosphere. After passing through a bamboo forest, we arrived at Heming Teahouse. The place was bustling with people, and the old people were sitting together, leisurely sipping tea from gaiwan bowls and chatting, with contented smiles on their faces. I also found a seat and sat down, and ordered a cup of jasmine tea. The faint tea fragrance filled the air, intoxicating. On the lake in the distance, several small boats were slowly paddling by, the waves were sparkling, and water birds occasionally flew over the water, stirring up layers of ripples. In People's Park, I felt the leisure and freedom unique to Chengdu, as if time had slowed down here, making people forget the hustle and bustle and troubles of the world.

Chengdu's downtown is where Kuixinglou Street is situated. The street is lined with a lot of fascinating stores, coffee shops, restaurants, etc. This street is well-known for its cuisine as well. Tourists may sample all of Chengdu's specialties thanks to the numerous food vendors and eateries on either side of the street. It is just a foodie's delight. The streets are crowded at night. From a distance, this place appears to be a beautiful planet with its many brilliant lights.

Address: Jielong Apartment, Kuixinglou Street, Qingyang District, Chengdu

Opening hours: 24 hours a day, all year round

evaluate:

Kuixinglou Street is between Zhongtongren Road and Changshun Middle Street. It is about 800 meters long and not far from Kuanzhai Alley. The road is not wide and there are restaurants and dessert shops on both sides of the street. BBQ is particularly popular. It is a food street for Chengdu citizens.

Tianfu Square is the city landmark and symbol of Chengdu. Tianfu Square is also the transportation hub of Chengdu, where Metro Lines 1 and 2 transfer. There is a tall statue of Mao Zedong in the center of the square, and around it are famous buildings such as the New Chengdu Museum, Sichuan Science and Technology Museum, and Jincheng Art Palace. Chengdu's famous tourist attractions are also divided into different locations with Tianfu Square as the center. On the east side are Chunxi Road and Wangfujing; on the north side is Wenshu Monastery; on the west side are People's Park, Kuanzhai Alley, Jinli, etc.

Address: No. 86, Section 1, Renmin South Road, Qingyang District, Chengdu (50 meters walk from the entrance of Tianfu Square subway station)

Opening hours: 24 hours a day, all year round

evaluate:

Tianfu Square is the geographical center of Chengdu, with the first, second, third and ring roads as well as the ring road around the city formed around it. There is a subway underground, and on the ground there are huge "Sun Bird", Tai Chi diagram, golden dragon pillars and hibiscus flowers. To the north is the Sichuan Science and Technology Museum and a statue of Chairman Mao, to the west are the Chengdu Museum, Sichuan Art Museum and Sichuan Library, and to the southeast are modern commercial areas. It is very close to People's Park and Kuanzhai Alley and can be reached on foot. It makes sense that if you don’t visit Tianfu Square in Chengdu, you haven’t been to Chengdu!

Wenshufang, located beside Renmin Middle Road in the center of Chengdu, integrates tourism, leisure and vacation, catering, specialty shopping, appreciation and collection of antiques and calligraphy and painting, health and fitness, entertainment performances, conferences and training, business negotiations, displays and exhibitions, Chinese and foreign business information and cultural and artistic exchanges. With a time and space span spanning ancient and modern times and a recreational concept of participation and experience, it interprets and spreads the humanistic features, folk customs and leisure culture of old Chengdu. It is a business card that showcases the characteristics of Chengdu and represents Chengdu culture. It is the best choice for Chengdu citizens to reminisce, explore the past, and relax and entertain. It is an important window for tourists and guests at home and abroad to know Chengdu and experience Chengdu's leisure culture.
Wenshufang uses China's unique architectural cultural symbol - traditional dwellings in western Sichuan to form a distinctive commercial courtyard. It is a common carrier of historical value, cultural value and commercial value. With its profound natural landscape and cultural heritage, it completely subverts the traditional form of commercial streets and becomes a cutting-edge creative courtyard shopping street for experiencing the development of the commercial era.

Address: Jiangyuan Gongsuo Rd, CaoShiJie, Qingyang Qu, Chengdu Shi, Sichuan Sheng, China, 610017

Opening hours: 24 hours a day, all year round

evaluate:

Wenshufang is located at No. 66 Wenshuyuan Street, Qingyang District, Chengdu City, Sichuan Province. It is bounded by Beida Street and Caoshi Street in the east, Baijiatang Street and Tongshunqiao Street in the south, Renmin Middle Road in the west and Da'an West Road in the north. It is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction. The following is a detailed introduction for you: History and Culture • Historical Origins: The area where Wenshufang is located was a famous tourist attraction in Chengdu during the Tang and Song Dynasties, and was known as the "First Jungle in Xichuan". During the Ming and Qing dynasties, a neighborhood with Buddhist culture as its theme gradually formed here. • Cultural characteristics: Wenshufang is themed on Zen culture and folk culture, fully demonstrating the cultural and historical essence of old Chengdu. There are many temples and Taoist temples here, including the thousand-year-old Wenshu Monastery, Baiyun Temple, Wuyue Palace, Lengjia Temple, Aido Hall, etc. There is almost a temple every hundred steps and a Taoist temple every thousand steps, so there was once a saying of "Nine Palaces and Eighteen Temples". Architectural style: Wenshufang's architectural style is typical of western Sichuan folk houses. The entire block is made up of many traditional residential courtyards from western Sichuan. Most of these courtyards have green tiles, white walls, carved window lattices, and flying eaves and brackets, and have a strong local flavor. In terms of architectural layout, Wenshufang adopts the traditional courtyard form, with the courtyards interconnected to form an organic whole. Main attractions: Wenshu Monastery: It is one of the core attractions of Wenshufang and the first of the four major Zen monasteries in the upper and lower reaches of the Yangtze River in China. It was first built during the Daye period of the Sui Dynasty, and was named Xinxiang Temple during the Tang and Song Dynasties. It was destroyed by war in the Ming Dynasty and rebuilt during the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty. There are numerous Buddha statues and cultural relics enshrined in the courtyard, the most famous of which are the iron guardian deity cast in the Song Dynasty and the bronze Buddha from the Qing Dynasty. • Wuyue Palace: It is a Taoist temple that was first built in the Ming Dynasty and the existing buildings were rebuilt in the Qing Dynasty. The palace houses Taoist statues of the Five Great Emperors and other Taoist deities. Its architectural style is simple and elegant, and has high artistic value. • Aidutang: It is a nunnery that was first built in the Ming Dynasty and the existing buildings were rebuilt in the Qing Dynasty. There are statues of Guanyin Bodhisattva and other Buddhas enshrined in the hall. The architectural style is small and exquisite with unique charm. Food Recommendations: • Long Chao Shou: It is a traditional snack in Chengdu, famous for its thin skin, large fillings and delicious soup. There are many long shao shou shops in Wenshufang where you can taste the authentic Chengdu long shao shou. • Zhong Dumplings: It is also one of Chengdu’s traditional snacks and is loved by people for its unique red oil seasoning and delicious fillings. There are many Zhong dumplings shops in Wenshufang where you can taste authentic Chengdu Zhong dumplings. • Dandan noodles: one of Chengdu’s traditional noodles, famous for its thin noodles and delicious soup. There are many Dandan noodle shops in Wenshufang where you can taste the authentic Chengdu Dandan noodles.

The northern suburbs of Chengdu, roughly 10 kilometers from the city center, are home to the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding. With its lakes, streams, bamboo forests, lawns, and other features, it is designed to mimic the natural habitat of giant pandas. The thrill is getting up close and personal with enormous pandas. Here, visitors may get a close-up look at the enormous pandas' living circumstances. Additionally, there is a "Panda Villa" here, which is a covered area where pandas can relax.

Address: No. 1375, Waibei Panda Avenue, Chenghua District, Chengdu

Business hours: Open from 07:30-18:00 tomorrow (ticket sales stop at 17:00; admission stops at 17:00)

evaluate:

It would help to provide a map of the place as one can come from the west entrance or the south entrance and if time is limited the ideal area can be covered. A must visit when in Chengdu!

Chengdu's Qintai Road is home to the Qintai Ancient Path. It was given its name in honor of Sima Xiangru and Zhuo Wenjun, two fabled characters and the epitome of love during the Western Han Dynasty. For the sake of their unrestrained love, Zhuo Wenjun and Sima Xiangru founded a wine shop here back then. In addition to a number of jewelry shops, this street is now home to the renowned Shufeng Yayun Sichuan Opera Theater, where you can take in stunning Sichuan opera performances.

Address: 30 meters southwest of the intersection of Qintai Road and Tonghuimen Road, Qingyang District, Chengdu City, Sichuan Province

Opening hours: 24 hours a day, all year round

evaluate:

The most impressive thing is the face changing and clown shows, the other shows are also good. If you buy a VIP membership, you will get a massage, ear cleaning or a souvenir. It is worth going with family and friends. The biggest drawback is that it is too difficult to book tickets for the front row. This time I sat in the back row. I hope I can get a front row seat next time.

No. 1 Xiaohe Street, Qingyang District, Chengdu is the address of the recently opened Chengdu Museum. It primarily shows Chengdu's history. To make the historic exhibits come to life, the museum uses contemporary technologies. You may learn about the way of life of ancient Chengdu at the Folk Customs Museum, which also has a lot of colorful decorations. The fifth-floor shadow play exhibition hall is stunning, showcasing the features of shadow plays from different locations as well as the entire process from skin selection to the final product.

Address: No. 1, Xiaohe Street, Qingyang District, Chengdu City, Sichuan Province

Business hours: Open from 09:00 to 20:30 tomorrow (no admission at 19:30)

evaluate:

Stepping into the door of Chengdu Museum is like opening a door leading to a thousand years ago. There is no noisy sound of the city here, only the whispers of time lingering in the ears. Inside the exhibition hall, the cultural relics stand quietly, like silent storytellers, telling every visitor about the vicissitudes and glory of the city of Chengdu. The bronze wares of the Western Zhou Dynasty are solemn in shape and intricate in decoration. Each piece seems to be telling the story of that era when ritual and music blended together. On the bronze tripod, the Taotie patterns hover like a dragon, which reminds people of the ancient mythical beasts recorded in the "Classic of Mountains and Seas". These artifacts are not only practical objects, but also a concrete expression of the ancient people's awe and imagination of heaven and earth!

West of Dujiangyan City, on the Minjiang River's main course, is the Dujiangyan Scenic Area. Around 256 BC, Li Bing, the Qin State's Shu County prefect, and his son constructed it. It is China's most comprehensive ancient water conservation project. In addition to subsidiary projects like Baizhang Dike and Renzi Dike, the project's three primary components are the Yuzui diversion dike, Feishayan spillway, and Baopingkou water inlet. It separates the inner and outer rivers of the raging Minjiang River. The western Sichuan plain is a "land of abundance" because the inner river is used for irrigation and the outside river is used for flood discharge.

Address: Gongyuan Road, Dujiangyan City, Chengdu

Business hours: Open from 08:00 to 18:00 tomorrow (ticket sales stop at 17:30; admission stops at 18:00)

evaluate:

Worship the water at Dujiangyan and seek the way at Qingcheng Mountain. More than 2,000 years ago, humans utilized the laws of nature to build great water conservancy projects for the benefit of mankind. Witnessing this great water conservancy project with your own eyes, you will be amazed by the wisdom of the ancients who lived without the conditions of steel and concrete.

Qingcheng Mountain has been known as "the most secluded place in the world" since ancient times. It is the birthplace of Taoism and there are many Taoist temples to explore in the mountains. Mount Qingcheng is divided into two parts: the front mountain and the back mountain, and tickets are sold separately for each part. The front mountain is where Taoist culture and cultural relics are concentrated. The "Qingcheng Mountain" that tourists often refer to refers to the front mountain; the back mountain of Qingcheng is famous for its natural scenery and is a good place for vacation and leisure.

Address: Qingchengshan Road, Qingchengshan Town, Dujiangyan City, Chengdu City, Sichuan Province

Business hours: Open from 08:00 to 17:30 tomorrow (ticket sales stop at 17:00)

evaluate:

Take the high-speed rail from Xipu in Chengdu to Qingcheng Mountain, take the sightseeing bus directly after getting off the high-speed rail, walk for more than 50 minutes to take the cable car, and then walk for more than 50 minutes to the Laojun Pavilion on the top of the mountain. The whole journey takes about 4 hours and is still worth having fun.

Du Fu Thatched Cottage is the former residence of Du Fu, a famous Tang Dynasty poet in Chengdu. Du Fu lived here for nearly four years and wrote hundreds of poems, so this place is regarded as a "holy place" in the history of Chinese literature. The current Du Fu Thatched Cottage has gone through many dynasties and been restored many times. The iconic landscape in the scenic area is the thatched cottage, which was rebuilt based on the characteristics of folk houses in western Sichuan.

Address: No. 37 Qinghua Road, Qingyang District, Chengdu City, Sichuan Province

Transportation: Take Metro Line 4 and get off at Caotang North Road Station.

Business hours: Open from 09:00 to 18:00 tomorrow (no admission at 17:00)

evaluate:

The environment is very good. If you like Du Fu, you can come and have a look. I asked an official to explain it briefly. My companion was born in the Year of the Snake, so he got a free ticket. The scenic spots in Chengdu are quite interesting. The elderly can also get free tickets.

Chengdu Ocean Park has a great location and is friendly to tourists from other places. You can take the subway directly to Ocean Park, about 500 meters away (Haichang Road Subway Station). If you have little time, you can play for half a day, which is the main activity. If you have plenty of time, especially if your children like it, you can stay for a whole day and play carefully! There are also many places to eat in the park, of course, mainly fast food. All in all, it's worth visiting!

The museum has a rich collection and progresses step by step along the course of aviation history, so you can gain all-round knowledge. I'd definitely come back if I have the chance.

Chunxi Road is a representative commercial street in Chengdu and one of the fashion centers of Chengdu. Going shopping and eating local delicacies here are what tourists must do when they come to Chengdu. On both sides of Chunxi Road, there are century-old stores, fashionable shopping malls, and delicious snack shops. Well-known local snack shops such as Zhong Dumplings, Lai Tangyuan, and Long Chao Shou all have branches on Chunxi Road.

Address: Jinjiang District, Chengdu City, Sichuan Province

Opening hours: 24 hours a day, all year round

evaluate:

Chunxi Road Taikoo Li Pedestrian Street is the most prosperous commercial district in Chengdu, integrating shopping, food and entertainment. This place is home to international brands, trendy stores and local brands, making it a great place for shopping. There are also many popular restaurants and snack stands around where you can taste authentic Sichuan cuisine and hot pot. The lights are bright at night, which is very suitable for taking photos and checking in. With convenient transportation and direct subway access, it is one of the must-visit attractions in Chengdu.

Jiuyan Bridge, located near the Sichuan Conservatory of Music, is a well-known bar street in Chengdu. The classical-style covered bridge is very beautiful, but the date when the bridge was built is now impossible to verify. There are a large number of bars, restaurants, teahouses and other entertainment venues around Jiuyan Bridge. It is very lively at night and is filled with tourists who come to the bars. The Jiuyan Bridge at night is even more dazzling under the lights.

Address: Wangjiang Road, Wuhou District, Chengdu

Opening hours: 24 hours a day, all year round

evaluate:

🔸Speaking of Chengdu's night culture landmarks, in addition to Jinli Ancient Street, the most popular among local citizens and foreign tourists is Jiuyanqiao Bar Street. 🔸This is one of the most famous bar gathering places in Chengdu and also a symbol of Chengdu's night culture. 🔸Every night when the night falls and the lights come on, more than a hundred bars on the banks of the Jinjiang River, centered on the Anshun Bridge, are brightly lit, and the sounds of music, dancing, and noise continue to echo on both sides of the river until the early morning. 🔸Walking through it, the neon lights of the city, the dreamlike covered bridges, and the colorful lights cannot stop the surging crowds. 🔸At this moment, while listening to the graceful music and appreciating the beautiful night scenery, I can't help but think of Zhao Lei's gripping singing in the song "Chengdu": 🔸Walk to the end of Yulin Road and sit at the door of the tavern. Walk with me on the streets of Chengdu and don’t stop until all the lights go out...🔸Yes, at this moment, facing this scene, nothing can better reflect the charm of Chengdu than Zhao Lei’s "Chengdu".

Sichuan Opera House is a national theatre led by famous Sichuan opera performers Zhou Yuxiang, Zhou Qihe and Chen Shufang and composed of graduates from Sichuan Opera School. Sichuan Opera House is renowned in the southwest region and even the whole country for its artistic advantages of well-organized lineup and rigorous stage presence. Among them, the Sichuan Opera face changing is one of the essences of Sichuan Opera. It is very popular and you never get tired of watching it.

Address: 108 Command Street

Business hours: Open from 20:00-21:20 tomorrow

evaluate:

It was my first time to watch Sichuan Opera face-changing live. It was quite novel and I felt great. There are Sichuan Opera face-changing performances in various places such as restaurants in Chengdu, but the performances in each place are probably different. This one is from the Sichuan Opera House, and it should be of a relatively high standard.
