Foshan Lingnan XINTIANDIFoshan Lingnan Xintiandi Travelogue Date: March 10, 2026 My wife, her sister, her sister's best friend, and I visited Foshan Lingnan Xintiandi from 4 PM until evening. It's truly a fantastic tourist attraction; the environment is comfortable, the architecture is unique, and the trees look like bonsai trees. Walking through it feels very culturally rich. The architecture of Lingnan Xintiandi is impressive. Many buildings are converted from traditional Lingnan-style houses and arcade buildings in Foshan's old town, preserving traditional elements such as blue bricks, carved wooden windows, and stone-paved roads, while integrating modern commercial and tourist facilities. Walking here, you can feel the intertwining of history and modernity. This area was originally Foshan's old town, and after restoration and renovation, it has become the comprehensive tourist attraction it is today, integrating culture, tourism, and commerce. It blends tradition and modernity, offering a wide variety of food options, from traditional Lingnan snacks to modern restaurants. We had dinner at a local restaurant inside, and the food was delicious, authentic, and satisfying. After our meal, we continued strolling around, buying some souvenirs. Many of the souvenirs at the stalls were handmade by the owners, showing their thoughtfulness. We also bought snacks and local drinks to enjoy as we walked, creating a lively atmosphere. There's also a very attractive clock tower here, one of the iconic buildings of Lingnan Xintiandi. Its design is inspired by traditional Lingnan pavilions and clock tower culture. It's antique and elegant during the day, and even more solemn and romantic when lit up at night. The clock tower is not only a great place for taking photos, but also symbolizes the historical continuation of Foshan's old city. Inside Xintiandi, you can also find some modern brand stores, such as Miniso. This is a chain store known for its affordable daily necessities and creative items. It has many practical and cute products, from home goods to stationery and accessories. It's a relaxing place to shop, and also suitable for buying small gifts or things you need for your trip. The surrounding area is also very lively. Besides the restaurants and bars inside Xintiandi, there are many shops outside where you can sit down and have a drink or a snack. As we walked, we passed the famous Ancestral Temple and the renowned Baozhilin Clinic in Foshan. Originally founded in Guangzhou by Huang Feihong in the late Qing Dynasty, Baozhilin was a medical clinic specializing in treating injuries and bruises, later becoming an important symbol of Lingnan medical culture. The Baozhilin clinics we saw in Foshan are mostly cultural exhibits, not the original sites, but they still carry the legendary stories of Lingnan martial arts and medicine. In the evening, we enjoyed beer and conversation at a bar, feeling relaxed and at ease with the nightlife. In summary, Foshan Lingnan Xintiandi is a great place that blends tradition and modernity, suitable for couples, families, and friends. It's recommended to visit in the evening to experience both the daytime scenery and the vibrant nighttime atmosphere. The food, shopping, clock tower, unique architecture, Miniso shops, and the nearby Ancestral Temple and Baozhilin Clinic are all highly recommended.
