The Hainan Provincial Museum has ten exhibition halls in total, six of which are the museum's basic exhibition halls. These halls primarily feature five special topics: Hainan history, ethnic minority culture, Hainan intangible cultural heritage, Hainan cultural relics, Hainan collection of cultural relics, Hainan intangible cultural heritage, and Hainan ethnocultural minorities.

Address: No. 68 Guoxing Avenue, Qiongshan District, Haikou City, Hainan Province

Business hours: Open from 09:00 to 17:00 tomorrow (no admission at 16:30)

The result was very surprising! I highly recommend museum lovers like me to spend half a day here, it's very unique! If I were to summarize the three main themes of the Hainan Provincial Museum from beginning to end, they would be: 1) Hainan Island and affiliated islands in the South China Sea have been the inherent territory of 🇨🇳 since ancient times; 2) The integration of rich and diverse local ethnic minority cultures; 3) The mainland culture imported by sea (such as the culture of demoted officials). This museum trip was unusual as soon as I discovered that the statue at the entrance was of Su Shi. Who would have thought that Su Shi would be a famous figure in Hainan Province? ? [Disappointed R][Disappointed R] In the subsequent exhibition hall, the Wugong Temple was introduced - all members were exiled, Hainan's unique "culture of demotion" [petrochemical R][petrochemical R][petrochemical R] Then there was the layout of the exhibition halls. In most provincial museums, the permanent exhibitions will start with the Stone Age culture and Homo sapiens, such as Hemudu Man and Yuanmou Man... But! The first exhibition hall on the first floor here (No. 10) is a shipwreck excavation [Secret Observation R] with a unique marine culture... To be honest, the exhibition hall is very old and the collection is not rich at all... But it can be seen that the curator has put a lot of thought into it. For example, the 360-degree screen projection in the shipwreck area, the interactive electronic display board (but about half of it was broken), the real-life simulation of folk culture... ⚠️⚠️Especially the genius naming of the exhibition halls👏each one is simply the name of a chapter in a fairy tale novel. Hainan style display - between immortals and mortals; Hainan customs - Nanming Wonderland😀… 👍Although the venue is old, the elevators, toilets, lockers and other facilities are very clean! There are plenty of seats and not many tourists during the Qingming Festival. Something to complain about [Angry R] The Lady Xian display board is broken. In the introduction to Hainan celebrities at the entrance of the museum, Lady Xian was one of the few indigenous people, and a female one at that. To be honest, I was looking forward to her part from the beginning. However, after walking through the entire museum, I only found an introduction to the Junpo Festival... I asked the staff and they said the electronic display board was broken. . 😡 The second is the Li ethnic group. I was looking forward to seeing the unique culture of the indigenous people, but this part only had a black-and-white documentary shot by foreigners 80 years ago (very interesting! Recommended!) and photos. And I'm curious, in fact, Li brocade tattoo clothing is very distinctive, but I didn't feel much publicity during my trip to Haikou a few days ago (such as Hanfu in Xi'an and hairpins in Quanzhou). What a pity...

Haikou City's Wanlv Garden is an open tropical seashore ecological garden. People can be seen riding tandem bicycles, flying kites, boxing, and running here. It's a fantastic location for weekend getaways. A tropical garden scenery is created by the numerous tropical and subtropical ornamental plants, primarily coconut trees, that are planted in the garden. You can work out and unwind at the golf driving range as well.

Address: No. 38 Binhai Avenue, Longhua District, Haikou City

Opening hours: 24 hours a day, all year round

Whenever my friends come to Haikou, I always recommend them to visit Wanlv Park. When we lived in Haikou for a long time, we would often come to Wanlv Park for fun, because the atmosphere here makes people very relaxed and it is suitable to come here to adjust their mentality. Wanlv Park is also in a very good location, with complete commercial facilities and convenient dining around it. It is also very close to the Old Street of Qilou and there is a direct bus to Holiday Beach. Therefore, there are more tourists here on weekends and holidays. The park is very lively and has the atmosphere of city fireworks.

The Yundong Library, which is roughly 700 square meters in size, is located near the sea. In addition to its extensive book collection, the library features a cafe, balcony, and reading room.

Address: Century Park, Gangwan Road

Opening hours: 10:00-22:00

The Yundong Library in Haikou is a new check-in attraction. I often meet tourists in Haikou asking how to get to the Yundong Library. This library has the same beauty as the Aranya Beidaihe Library. Yundong Library is a good place for reading books, taking photos, or having a cup of coffee and enjoying the surrounding scenery. Across the river from the library is Sky Mountain, which is also a nice scenic spot. The two attractions are at both ends of the Century Bridge. The parking lot next to the library is relatively large, which is suitable for traveling by car. The bus is also very convenient, but the station is a little far away.

Located primarily along Deshengsha Road, Xinhua South Road, Zhongshan Road, Boai Road, and Jiefang Road, Haikou City's Old Street with Arcades is a particularly unique streetscape. After returning from Southeast Asia, Chinese expatriates used local architectural styles to construct the arcades. These buildings from Southeast Asia are now home to a variety of stores. It should be mentioned that you have to be cutthroat and haggle when making purchases here!

Address: Zhongshan Road, Longhua District, Haikou City

Opening hours: 24 hours a day, all year round

- Haikou Bell Tower: Located at the end of Qilou Old Street, it is one of Haikou's landmark buildings. The 25-meter-high clock tower was built in 1929. It has undergone many renovations and still retains its original architectural style and clock face design. - Hainan Coconut Carving Exhibition Hall: The hall displays various exquisite coconut carving handicrafts, which are all made of coconut shells and have a strong Hainan flavor. - The former site of the First Congress of the Chinese Communist Party in Qiongya: Located in the Qiu family ancestral home in Zhulin Community, Zhongshan Street, Longhua District, Haikou City, it is a key cultural relic protection unit and patriotism education base in Hainan Province. - Tianhou Temple: Located in Qilou Old Street, it is a temple with a long history dedicated to Mazu, the Queen of Heaven.

West of Haikou City is where you'll find Holiday Beach. The beach's right side faces the Qiongzhou Strait, while the left side is lined by verdant trees. Here, the beach, coconut trees, sea water, and sun all work together to create a stunning natural scene. It's also a special delight to enjoy a beachside barbecue and beer with friends on the weekends, followed by a stroll along the shore.

Address: No. 126 Binhai Avenue, Xiuying District, Haikou City, Hainan Province

Opening hours: 24 hours a day, all year round

Holiday Beach is a bathing beach in Haikou and also a seaside landscape park. Holiday Beach is close to the west coast and is connected with Guanhaitai and Xixiu Beach to form a coastal landscape belt. Holiday Beach is very lively every weekend, with local residents coming to play in the water and take their children for a walk, as well as tourists from all over the world coming to take photos and check in. This is a free attraction and is very tourist-friendly. The transportation to Holiday Beach is very convenient. There are buses and tourist buses along the way, and there is also a parking lot for those who drive there.

Shishan Town, Haikou City, is home to Leiqiong Haikou Volcano Group World Geopark. With its diverse range of volcanoes, the park might be referred to as a natural geological museum. You can see the picturesque Haikou city and the Qiongzhou Strait from the crater's impressive heights. You can follow the trail into the crater's bottom in addition to taking in the surrounding landscape. This area is a natural oxygen bar because it is not only cool but also abundant with plants.

Address: No. 89, Fengjing Road, Shishan Town, Xiuying District, Haikou City

Business hours: Open from 08:00 to 18:00 tomorrow

evaluate:

A very nice scenic spot, especially there is a plank road that leads down to the bottom of the crater, where you can see every part of the crater clearly, which is quite special. There are many scenic spots along the way, and they are all well designed. There happened to be a school activity, and it was quite interesting to watch everyone circling the crater along the way.

The extensive film and television production of Mission Hills Huayi Feng Xiaogang Film Studio documents the transformations of Chinese urban communities over the course of the 20th century. Filming for the well-known variety show "Running Man" used to take place here. The picturesque neighborhood is separated into multiple sections, such as Fanghua Courtyard, Nanyang Street, and 1942 Republic of China Street. The films "Youth" and "1942" were filmed on Youth Courtyard and 1942 Street, respectively. You can experience the movie's scenes as you go through it, which is fascinating. The picturesque location is filled with numerous celebrity handprints and performances. You can have a peek if you're interested.

Address: No. 19 Yangshan Avenue, Longhua District, Haikou City, Hainan Province

Opening hours: 09:00-22:00 (ticket sales stop at 21:00; admission stops at 21:00)

evaluate:

It is a very worthwhile place to visit. There are also some interesting stories in the scenic spot. There will be iron flowers at night, which is very shocking. You can enjoy the performance quietly. I recommend you to have a look. There are also photo studios on both sides. The cost performance is very high.

The city of Haikou is home to the Temple of Five Lords. It is a cultural artifact that exhibits the historical culture of Hainan, the ancient Chinese culture of deposed officials, and old architectural art that is distinctively Hainan. Wugong Temple got its name because it was constructed to honor five well-known historical personalities who were banished to Hainan Island during the Tang and Song dynasties. This crimson structure was expertly built with premium wood. It features two storeys, red rafters, plain tiles, and a pointed roof on each of the four corners. It appears very grave and dignified because of the contrast with the surrounding lush green foliage and branches.

Address: No. 169, Haifu Road, Qiongshan District, Haikou City

Business hours: Open from 08:00 to 18:00 tomorrow

evaluate:

You can learn about Hainan’s cultural history and some of the great literary figures who have stayed in Hainan. There are explanations in the park for 50 yuan. ✨ Impression of the attraction: Wugong Temple is truly a treasure trove full of historical heritage and cultural atmosphere! Walking through it, it feels like traveling back to ancient times and feeling the heavy historical sedimentation. 🌿 Environmental atmosphere: The temple is shaded by green trees, with birds singing and flowers blooming, which contrasts with the quaint buildings, creating a tranquil and solemn atmosphere. Every step you take echoes the history, which makes you indulge in it. 📜 Historical Culture: Wugong Temple is not only beautifully built, but also carries rich historical and cultural connotations. By visiting the exhibition and learning about Wu Gong's life and deeds, I have a deeper understanding and insight into Hainan's history. 📸 Take photos and check in: Every place in the temple is a great photo spot. Whether it is the quaint archway, exquisite carvings, or the long corridor, you can take beautiful photos and leave unforgettable memories. 🚶‍♀️ Tour experience: Visiting the Wugong Temple is a spiritual baptism and a cultural feast. Although the area is not large, every corner is worth savoring. It is recommended to spend half a day to slowly feel the charm of this history. In general, Hainan Wugong Temple is a cultural journey that cannot be missed. Whether you are a history lover or an ordinary tourist, you can find your own touch and gain here.
