This little hamlet is located in District No. 9 Banff, Alberta, Canada. The Canadian Pacific Railway built this teahouse in 1901, but back then it served only as a refuge for adventurous, but tired hikers who were hiking through the mountains. It was in 1905 that tea started being served at this historic site.

The Lake Agnes Tea House serves over one hundred different types of loose tea to visitors. It also serves other hot drinks such as lattes and hot chocolate, as well as sandwiches and soups. There is nothing better than enjoying meals prepared in love by a family run teahouse after a tiring hiking experience.

If you are eager to plan your trip to Banff and Lake Louise, you are going to want to decide how you are going to get there. If you are already a resident of Canada, you can take the Parks Canada Shuttle or use a map and drive out to Lake Louise in Banff. The Banff National Park sits along the TransCanada Highway. Those coming in from the east will face a ninety-minute drive to the west of Calgary. Those coming in from the west will have to drive for about a day from Vancouver and travel through British Columbia, the Coast Mountains and the Canadian Rockies.

If you are trying to get to Lake Louise, Banff from overseas, you will need to fly into the Calgary Airport. From here, it is an hour and a half to drive to Banff and Lake Louise. The airport also provides regular shuttle buses that will take you from the airport to Lake Louise, Banff.
