Caishen Bay is located near the Dongzha Visitor Center and was formerly called "Transfer Bay". The water here is wide and provides a place for ships to maneuver and anchor. In addition to standing on the Fengyuan Double Bridge to admire the quaint corridors on both sides, the high pole boat performances here are also very unique and worth your stop to watch on the shore.
Wuzhen's water system is rather special, forming a "cross" shape. The river becomes narrower as it gets closer to Zhatou, making it difficult for boats to turn around. So the locals dug ponds and rivers here to create a place for boats to turn around. At the same time, in order to distinguish it from other transshipment bays, it was named "Caishen Bay" after the nearby God of Wealth Temple. In addition, there is a saying about the Fengyuan Double Bridge on the east side of the God of Wealth Bay: "Walk on the left to get promoted, walk on the right to get rich." Many tourists come here for this auspicious meaning.

Caishen Bay is a pier in the Dongzha Scenic Area of Wuzhen, Zhejiang. The entire Dongzha Scenic Area is surrounded by a small river. The river here in Caishen Bay is relatively wide and all the ships turn around here. The stilt boat performance is also here, but everyone must pay attention to the performance time. We missed it, which is a pity.

Wuzhen, a water town in the south of the Yangtze River, is a magnificent place. Like other ancient towns, it has quaint bridges, quietly flowing water, bustling tourists and swaying black-sailed boats. However, there is one thing that other towns do not have, and that is Wuzhen’s unique Sanbai liquor, which is really very strong after tasting it.

Here you can see a demonstration of the traditional process of making blue printed cloth, and buy some finished products to take home as souvenirs. In addition, this is also one of the filming locations for the TV series "A Time to Live and Die". Fans of the show may be able to recall scenes from the show here.

The Yu Liuliang Coin Museum is located on Guanqian Street in Dongzha. The small blue-tiled house may seem inconspicuous, but it exhibits in batches coins and commemorative coins from all over the world that Mr. Yu Liuliang has collected for 40 years. Even if you just take a quick look in the museum, you can still get a glimpse of the vast world of coins. The coins on display in the museum include metal currency, paper money, and flower coins, ranging from the Xia and Shang dynasties to the modern era, spanning a full thirty centuries. Each coin has its origin, nationality, and cultural history, and there is a corresponding text introduction for you to understand its "connotation". The Former Residence of Mao Dun is the old house where the ancestors of the revolutionary writer Mao Dun (Shen Yanbing) lived. It is located at the corner of Guanqian Street and Xinhua Road in Wuzhen. It is a traditional wooden frame residential building commonly seen in Jiangsu and Zhejiang areas of my country. The former residence was built in the mid-nineteenth century and is a Jiangnan residence from the Qing Dynasty. There are two houses in front and back. The three bungalows in the front are Mao Dun's bedroom, study and reception room. There is a small garden next to the house, with various green plants planted in it. The latter is a two-story building used as a kitchen, dining room and living room.

The bottom floor of the storefront is a neat original board wall, the upper part is a row of wooden windows, the west side facing Xinhua Road is an ink-colored wall, and at both ends of the eaves are high horse-head walls, with the top outlined with white lines. The whole building appears dignified, simple and elegant. Houdai consists of three bungalows, which Mao Dun personally designed and rebuilt into a study. The former residence is a two-courtyard courtyard from the Republic of China period, covering an area of about 878 square meters. There is a Ruyi Gate on the southeast side of the courtyard. In the front yard there are three northern rooms, three east and west wing rooms each, and a back house. The west wing was once Mao Dun's reception room and study, and the east wing was the dining room. The architectural style is simple and elegant, reflecting the characteristics of Beijing courtyard houses during the Republic of China period. The interior of the former residence has retained the original state of Mao Dun during his lifetime, including his living room, reception room, study, etc. The front yard exhibition hall houses an exhibition titled "The Great Revolutionary Writer Mao Dun", which showcases Mao Dun's life and contributions through pictures, texts and real objects. The shadow play house is located in Hanlindi in Dongzha Scenic Area. Sitting on the long old bench and watching a nostalgic shadow play is an ideal choice for tourists to experience the art of Wuzhen. Wuzhen shadow play belongs to the southern style, and the performance is interspersed with local dialect, but this does not prevent you from experiencing this ancient folk art. Each performance is not long, about 10 minutes. After the performance, you may be able to go behind the scenes to see the old musical instruments and mottled tables and chairs full of traces of time.

The Shadow Play Theater is a performance venue in the Dongzha Scenic Area of Wuzhen. When I went there, indoor performances were not open due to the epidemic. On weekdays, the shadow play performance time is from 9:30 to 11:00 in the morning and from 13:00 to 15:50 in the afternoon, with a show every 30 minutes. You can remember the time and go to experience the shadow play performance.
Huiyuan Pawnshop is located in the Dongzha Scenic Area of Wuzhen, Tongxiang City, Jiaxing City, between Yingjia Bridge and Nanhua Bridge. It is one of the well-preserved pawnshops in Wuzhen. The five-bay storefront, the 1.8-meter-high counter, and the huge word "Dang" on the wall are very impressive. Many tourists took photos in front of the counter, imitating the shopkeeper and customers, which was very interesting.

Xuchang Soy Sauce Factory was built in the ninth year of Emperor Xianfeng's reign in the Qing Dynasty and is the earliest soy sauce factory in Wuzhen's history. There is a shop in front of the sauce garden and a workshop in the back. It mainly sells bean paste, soy sauce, pickles, etc. The sauce is made using the traditional hand-made method. The words "Xuchang Sauce Garden" and "The Ninth Year of Xianfeng" are printed on the sauce jars, which makes people feel the century-old history of this place.

These two places where you need to buy tickets are relatively expensive if you buy them separately, but if you buy a pass for two gates in one place, it will be much cheaper. I suggest you go early, because if you go late, you may not be able to visit for a very long time because you bought your ticket late and the place will be closed. |
Andufang is located in Xizha of Wuzhen. It is the ferry leading to Xizha. Sitting on the boat and admiring the beautiful scenery of Wuzhen, you will surely be intoxicated by the charming scenery of the water town.

Andufang Ferry is a cruise ship terminal at the entrance of Wuzhen Xizha Scenic Area. It can be seen when you turn into the Boat Cultural Corridor. Here you can take a Wuzhen-style black-sailed boat, and when you get out you can see the Caomu Bense Dyeing Factory opposite. The environment here is pretty good, worth a look.
The Caomu Bense Dyeing Workshop is located in the Xizha Scenic Area, where you can see a demonstration of the traditional printing and dyeing process of indigo cloth. This dyeing workshop has a very Jiangnan flavor. From pattern design, pattern engraving, pattern plate painting, pattern copying, dyeing to drying, it still follows the craftsmanship left by ancestors. The blue and white floral cloth hanging on the tall racks in the drying yard looks very beautiful in the sun, attracting many tourists to take photos here.

A large-scale hand-dying workshop operated in Wuzhen. As you step into the dyeing workshop, you can see a forest of bamboo poles, on which are hung fabrics printed and dyed in the workshop. Among them, the most common is traditional blue printed fabric, which is our favorite. However, the price of the finished products is not cheap in the stores, so we can only feel a little regretful in the end.

There are sedan chairs and Wuzhen’s old wedding hall inside. You can rent costumes for taking photos, but there is a charge. |
Zhaoming Academy is named after Xiao Tong, the Prince Zhaoming of the Southern Liang Dynasty, who built a school in Wuzhen to study. It tells the story of Xiao Tong, the Prince Zhaoming of the Southern Liang Dynasty, who studied hard with his teacher in Wuzhen when he was young. The academy faces south and its main building is a library. Yellowed ancient books record splendid culture and are placed in this quiet academy day after day, year after year, bringing more aura to this water town.

Business hours: Open from 8:00 to 17:00 tomorrow
evaluate:
As a scenic spot that combines historical heritage and cultural atmosphere, Zhaoming Academy is generally well received by tourists. The following are comprehensive comments and travel suggestions: 📜 Cultural Features Historical Origin: Named after Xiao Tong, the Prince of Liang in the Southern Dynasties, it is said to be the site where he compiled "Wenxuan". Literature lovers often come here to visit. Architectural style: Typical Jiangnan garden layout, with pavilions, waterside terraces and ancient trees complementing each other, suitable for taking photos and checking in, especially on rainy days, it shows the ink painting conception. Library and Exhibition Hall: There are permanent exhibitions of local chronicles and ancient books in the library. In some areas, you can experience traditional cultural activities such as woodblock printing and movable type printing. 👍 Recommended reason Quiet environment: Compared with the popular main street of the ancient town, there are fewer tourists here, which is suitable for quiet reading or tea tasting (there may be a tea room in the courtyard). Free opening: In most cases, no tickets are required (subject to the latest policy of the scenic spot), which is cost-effective. Parent-child experience: Regularly hold Chinese studies classes, calligraphy copying and other activities to let children experience traditional culture. ⚠️ Note Small scale: If you expect a grand building complex, you may be disappointed. It is recommended to visit other attractions in Wuzhen together. Traces of commercialization: Cultural and creative products are sold in some areas, which may affect the ancient atmosphere, but the product designs are mostly related to the theme of the academy. Traffic Tips: If you are located in the Xizha Scenic Area of Wuzhen, you must first purchase a ticket to enter the scenic area. 📍 Practical informationBest time: Avoid crowds in the early morning or evening, and be careful to prevent mosquitoes in summer. Linkage with surrounding areas: You can plan a same-day visit with other cultural attractions such as the Mu Xin Art Museum and Wuzhen Grand Theater. Overall, Zhaoming Academy is a representative attraction of Wuzhen's "Cultural Slow Tour" and is suitable for tourists who like history and literature. If you have enough time, you may want to sit here for a while and feel the continuation of the millennium cultural context.

The old post office is located on the bank of the Xishi River in Xizha. The brick and tile structure and western-style iron gate exude a strong sense of history. Here you can see many precious postal exhibits. There are postcards for sale in the post office. Writing a postcard, stamping it with the old post office stamp, dropping it into the mailbox at the door of the post office, and sending it to relatives and friends far away is a romantic and special way to commemorate the occasion.

When you come to Wuzhen, you must visit the post office. Because I live in a homestay, I can walk back and forth on this street many times and pass by the post office at different times to get a feel of its appearance. I personally like the post office during the day, where I can visit a collection of oil messenger coats and imagine the scene of people at that time wearing coats and delivering letters on foot. In addition to the collections that you can visit, the post office also sells postcards at a not-too-expensive price. You can fill in your own address and mail them. Actually, I really like postcards, but I don’t want to send them because I have almost never received a postcard that I sent to myself, which is really embarrassing.
The General Wu Temple was built with funds raised by local people in memory of General Wu. It is divided into front and back halls, with ear rooms and side halls on both sides. The famous General Wu is enshrined in the center of the main hall of the garden rockery, with the general's servant behind him, and the god of fire and the god of water on both sides. According to legend, as early as during the Yuanhe period of Emperor Xianzong of the Tang Dynasty, there was a brave general in Wuzhen. His surname was Wu and his name was Zan. He was known as General Wu and was the local patron saint of Wuzhen.

Wuzhen is a quaint town surrounded by water, with a nice feeling of small bridges and flowing water. More importantly, it is very suitable for people with faith. I heard that the Yue Lao Temple is very large, and I think it is really huge. Anyway, I got a good fortune stick. The results are all out. There are Guanyin Bodhisattva, Guan Erye, Wenchang Emperor, and General Wu. The night view is especially beautiful at night. It is recommended that people who go there can prepare some fish food to feed the fish and then bring some incense with them. The things in the incense burning area are a bit expensive, and meals are relatively expensive. Boat tickets also cost money. It is recommended to buy some flowers and fruits for the Bodhisattva. This is my first time in Wuzhen. I will come here to fulfill my wish next time.
There is a Tongji Bridge and a Renji Bridge in Xizha of Wuzhen, one running north-south and the other east-west. The two bridges are adjacent to each other at right angles. No matter which bridge you stand on, you can see the other bridge through the bridge hole, just like looking at the moon in a well, thus earning the reputation of "Bridge within a Bridge". Both bridges are arch structures, tall and majestic. If you stand on the south bank of the river and look at them, the semicircular arches of the two bridges are reflected on the water surface, appearing round but not round, real and unreal, which is a major landscape of Wuzhen. At night, it is even more beautiful under the lights.
Qiaoli Bridge is the most beautiful ancient bridge in Wuzhen. Compared with the double bridges in other places, it is second to none in terms of momentum and shape. The "Bridge in the Bridge" in Wuzhen is a perfect blend of humanistic beauty and Tianyuan beauty, combining wildness and exquisite structure. There are wild trees with branches slanting across the gaps in the bridge. Standing on the bridge head and looking around, you can have a panoramic view of the water pavilions. The Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal winds northward, the Wenchang Pavilion is elegant, and the White Lotus Tower is majestic and tall. It is a unique view of the bridge.

Wuzhen International Internet Convention and Exhibition Center is located in the northwest of Xizha Scenic Area and consists of three functional blocks: conference center, reception center and exhibition center. The architectural style of the convention and exhibition center focuses on the combination of tradition and modernity, especially the use of Jiangnan small green tiles on the facade, and tens of thousands of steel cables with a mesh texture symbolizing the Internet. The overall design presents a harmonious scene of the integration and coexistence of ancient Jiangnan architecture and modern networks, and also forms a vibrant dialogue of the times with the entire Wuzhen.

The total area of Wuzhen North Wetland is about 10.08 square kilometers, with seven sceneries including "Autumn Reeds Flying Snow, Gaozhuang Traces, Fishing Village Mist and Water, Listening to Music on the River Bank, Meeting Boats in the Deep Pool, Searching for Plum Blossoms on the Winding Water, and Autumn Colors in the Persimmon Forest", and two embankments, "Fu Dike" and "Green Dike". The North Wetland is the only rare wetland in China that combines urban wetlands, agricultural wetlands and cultural wetlands. It is also the first national wetland park in the country. The northern wetland contains five major cultural elements of "Buddhism, seclusion, vulgarity, leisure and wildness", and its zoning characteristics are "seclusion in the south, vulgarity in the north, bustling in the east and tranquility in the west". The essence of Wuzhen culture is "one garden and five places": Hongyuan, the premiere site of Yue Opera, the holy land of poets, the birthplace of Water Margin, the free and easy place for literati, and the concentrated place of folk customs.
