Beigushan Mountain leads to the ancient Three Kingdoms Road, while Jiaoshan Mountain offers the Forest of Steles in the Center of the River. Both mountains encompass both the cultural and historical wonders of the waterfront.

date journey
Day 1 Jinshan->Xijindu Historical and Cultural District
Day 2 Beigu Mountain->Jiaoshan

Yiquan Road separates its two main sections, Zhonglengquan in the west and Jinshan Temple in the east. The primary draw is Jinshan Temple. This is the location of well-known tales like Liang Hongyu banging drums to fight at Jinshan Mountain and White Snake flooding the mountain. Ascending Jinshan Temple offers a view of Zhenjiang City. As a living spring, Zhongleng Spring continues to produce strings of bubbles.

Business hours: Open from 08:00 to 18:00 tomorrow (no admission at 17:00)

Jinshan Temple is a landmark attraction in Zhenjiang, famous for the legend of White Snake and Fahai. It faces the Yangtze River and has a spectacular view. It is said that Emperor Kangxi visited Jinshan Temple during his southern tour, climbed up to the top and looked into the distance, and wrote the four big characters "A View of the River and Sky" by hand. At present, there is a Jiangtian Yilan Pavilion at the highest point of Jinshan Mountain, and there is a stone tablet with an inscription inside.

With its historic atmosphere and antique residences, Xijindu Ancient Street is a really attractive site. Admire Zhenjiang's old city style, sample the delectable Zhenjiang pot-cover noodles, and stroll up the mountainside's thousand-year-old streets. At night, the vista is even more stunning. It's really calm and there aren't many people. Here, staying in a youth hostel offers a unique experience.

Xijindu is a great place to enjoy the scenery slowly, I like it very much! The positive reviews mainly come from my good impression of the entire scenic area. The historical sites are properly protected and not overdeveloped. You can buy tickets for Guanyin Cave separately, but I regretted buying a combined ticket because I am an old man with limited mobility and didn’t get to climb the Yuntai Pavilion.

The majority of Beigushan Mountain's picturesque locations are associated with the Romance of the Three Kingdoms tales. The most well-known of these is Ganlu Temple, where Liu Bei first encountered Sun Shangxiang in the narrative. Travelers have visited Beigushan throughout history in order to follow in the heroes' footsteps from the Three Kingdoms. A great spot to take in the view is the Duojing Tower, also called Beigu Tower, which is located behind Ganlu Temple. Climbing the tower offers views of Jiaoshan Mountain to the east and Jinshan Mountain to the west, as well as the spectacular Yangtze River below.

Beigushan Mountain is located in Zhenjiang City, Jiangsu Province. It is one of the three famous mountain scenic spots in Zhenjiang. It not only has beautiful scenery, but also has a profound historical and cultural heritage. The main peak of Beigushan, Houfeng, is the best place for scenery. The mountain is steep, lying across the river, with rugged stone cliffs. Climbing up to the Multi-view Tower on the top of the mountain, you can have a panoramic view of the magnificent Yangtze River, Jinshan Mountain to the west, and Jiaoshan Mountain to the east. It is said that the Henshi to the west of Duojing Tower was the place where Sun Quan and Liu Bei discussed the strategy of Chibi, while the Jijiang Pavilion to the east was the place where Sun Shangxiang committed suicide by jumping into the river after hearing of Liu Bei's death. Ganlu Temple is another highlight of Beigushan Mountain. There are buildings such as the Main Hall, Laojun Hall, Guanyin Hall and Jiangsheng Pavilion in the temple. According to the plot in "Romance of the Three Kingdoms", there are also statues of characters from the Three Kingdoms depicting the story of Liu Bei's marriage. In addition, there are ancient sites such as the Tomb of Taishi Ci and the Tomb of Lu Su in the mountain, which make people feel as if they have traveled back to the Three Kingdoms period during the tour. The ticket price for Beigushan is relatively affordable, 40 yuan from March to November and 30 yuan from December to February. The road in the scenic area is in the shape of an "8", and tourists can easily visit various scenic spots along this route. If you have enough time, you can also walk to the riverside scenic area north of Beigushan Mountain, feel the river breeze along the wooden plank road, and feel the magnificence of the Yangtze River. Although Beigushan is not large in scale, it has a strong cultural atmosphere, and the stories of the Three Kingdoms and historical relics are endless to recall. Whether you want to climb up and see the distant view or explore history, this is a great place worth visiting. This attraction is very fun and it was a pleasant experience with friends. I hope I will have the opportunity to bring my family and friends here for a trip next time.

Jiaoshan Mountain, which faces Xiangshan Mountain on the other side of the river, is not very high. Jiaoshan Mountain is home to tall, ancient trees that conceal a number of picturesque locations, including temples, stone carvings, and old steles. On the mountain lies a Dinghui Temple. Emperor Qianlong's palace during his southern visit was the Guanlan Pavilion, which is located east of the temple. It's a beautiful, small, two-story structure. Ascending the tower allows you to glimpse the Yangtze River's rushing waves in the distance. The landscape is very breathtaking. Baomoxuan, also called Jiaoshan Stele Forest, is next to Qianlong's palace and is home to more than 400 steles from different dynasties, second only to the Xi'an

Address: Dongwu Rd, Jingkou Qu, Zhenjiang Shi, Jiangsu Sheng, China

Business hours: Open from 08:00 to 17:30 tomorrow (ticket sales stop at 16:15; admission stops at 16:30)

I originally didn't plan to go to Jiaoshan due to time constraints, but in Jinshan I was in a hurry to follow a tour guide and decided to check in at Jiaoshan. It turns out that among the three mountains in Zhenjiang, Jiaoshan is the largest and most time-consuming. If you go out from the South Gate, you need to take a ferry to Jiaoshan. As a calligrapher, what attracts me most is of course the Inscription on the Buried Crane. As the second largest forest of steles in China, it has a large number of steles, but not many famous ones. The significance of the event was enhanced because of the Inscription on the Buried Crane. There is a special exhibition hall for the Inscription on the Buried Crane, which explains its past and present life in great detail!
