Orlando MCO has one of the most convenient airport rental setups in the U.S. Major rental companies are located either directly inside the terminals or just a short shuttle ride away.
Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Europcar, Hertz, National, Thrifty, and Sixt.
Terminal A & Terminal B Pickup
Passengers arriving at Terminal A or B can follow the signs to the Ground Transportation Level (Level 1), where counters for most rental agencies are located. After checking in, make your way to Level 2 in the garage to collect your vehicle.
Terminal C Pickup
Upon arrival at Terminal C, proceed to the Enterprise counters located on Level 4 to obtain your rental agreement. After checking in, follow the signs to Parking Garage C1 or C2, where you’ll have direct access to your rental vehicle.
Some budget-friendly car rental companies operate off-site. They provide free shuttle pick-up to and from designated spaces at each terminal:
Location | Pick-Up/Drop-Off Zone |
Terminal A | Level 1, Ground Transportation, A11–A13 |
Terminal B | Level 1, Ground Transportation, B11–B13 |
Terminal C | Level 1, Ground Transportation, C277–C278 |
Train Station (Brightline) | Level 1, Ground Transportation, C3–C4 |
Look for the shuttle signs or use your booking confirmation to find the right pick-up point.
While renting directly at MCO is the most convenient option for many travelers, there are also car rental branches in downtown Orlando, International Drive, and Lake Buena Vista that may offer lower base prices.
Renting in the city can be cheaper, especially for extended stays or late check-ins. However, you’ll need to arrange transportation from MCO, which can add time and cost.
Central Florida is made for road trips—and with a rental car from MCO Airport, some of the state’s top destinations are just a scenic drive away. Whether you're chasing theme park thrills, sandy beaches, or a touch of space exploration, these routes are perfect for a day trip or an overnight stay.

Orlando is easy to drive in—but knowing the local rules can save you time and money.
Driving rules
Drive on the right side, wear seatbelts, and keep your license with you. Most rental companies require drivers to be 21+ (some charge extra if under 25).
Parking tips
Downtown Orlando has numerous parking garages and street parking. Most theme parks charge for parking (~$25-30 per day), but hotel parking is often free outside the main tourist areas.
Fuel policy
Return your car with a full tank unless you pre-paid for fuel. Gas stations near the airport may be higher priced—fill up a few miles out to save. Apps like GasBuddy can help you find better rates at stations like Wawa or RaceTrac, which are common throughout the city.
Traffic conditions
I-4 can get congested during peak travel times, especially in the morning (7–9 a.m.) and late afternoon (4–6 p.m.). Allow extra time during weekends and holidays.
Toll roads
Orlando has many toll roads. Most rental cars are equipped with toll passes—check with your provider for details and fees.
