The 10th Annual Stone Skipping Festival is an exciting event taking place at Lake Paran in Bennington, Vermont on September 16, 2023. This unique festival is the only stone skipping event in New England and offers an opportunity to witness world champions in action or even participate in the competition yourself. 

Imagine the thrill of watching skilled stone skippers showcase their talent against the backdrop of the picturesque green mountains. Participants of all ages can experience the pure joy of throwing a rock into the water, surrounded by friends and the beauty of a fall day. 

One highlight of this year's festival is the presence of Kurt Steiner, the current world record holder for the most stone skips. He will be competing alongside other pros, amateurs, and youngsters in their respective categories. 

The festivities kick off at 1 pm with the youngest participants, followed by older kids at 2 pm, amateurs at 3 pm, and finally the pros at 4 pm. There will also be a target throwing competition at 5 pm, with the chance to win fudge and an award. 

In addition to the stone skipping action, attendees can purchase buckets of rocks for skipping, explore merchandise from Paran Recreations, enjoy local food vendors, and sample cold beers from Bennington's very own brewery.
