Greg Kritikos is back with his highly anticipated one-man show, "The Shoemaker's Son-Stories from Astoria," which will take place on December 9th at 8PM in the heart of Astoria, Queens. Join the Dance Photography Workshop - Nutcracker on Saturday, December 2 at 1:30 p.m. in Astoria, New York. This workshop is designed for photographers of all levels who are interested in capturing dancers as they perform various repertoires. Led by Sangeeta Yesley, Director at Creative Performances, this event offers a unique opportunity to practice and perfect your dance photography skills. Featuring talented dancers Melissa Weber and Jose Rojas, this workshop will allow you to explore the art of capturing the beauty and grace of dancers in action. The theme of the workshop is inspired by the enchanting Nutcracker ballet, making it a truly special experience. The workshop will be held at FD Studio, located at 35-58 37th Street on the third floor. The studio boasts a large white cyc wall, providing an ideal backdrop for your dance photography. Please bring your own photography equipment, including your camera and up to three flashes. Note that optical triggering will not work in a crowded setting, so remote triggering is recommended. Tickets for this workshop are available at an early bird price of $75 until November 18. After that, general admission tickets will be priced at $80. Space is limited, so be sure to book your spot soon. The workshop will last for a total of two hours, from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. During the workshop, there will also be an opportunity to book one-on-one shoots with the dancers for 15 minutes at an additional cost. This is a great chance to capture stunning individual shots and enhance your portfolio. Please note that there will be no instruction provided during the workshop, so it is recommended that attendees have prior knowledge of dance photography. Model release forms will be provided, allowing you to use the images you capture for portfolio and personal purposes. Attendees are requested to arrive at the studio by 1 p.m. to set up.
