Each featured artist takes a unique approach to Fogg’s legacy, presenting cutting-edge work which aims to transcend people’s ideas of what quilting can do. They are united by their passion for fabric, stitch, texture and colour, and the limitless creative possibilities of the textile surface. The exhibition will be accompanied by a book featuring the artworks and giving an insight into the working processes of each artist.

Celebrating Ceramics showcases the wonderful creativity and skill of participants, and artist pass holders who created work at MAC during 2023. The work was created in our world-class ceramics studios, made possible by the generous support of the Greater Birmingham and Solihull Local Enterprise Partnership (GBSLEP) and Arts Council England in 2020. A heartfelt thanks to our artist tutors, Andrea Clarke, Emily-Kriste Wilcox, Libby Gillies, Martin McNally, Mike Martin, Ronnie Diggins, Serge Sanghera, and Sue Dyer.

Welcome to Mic Drop, a safe and inclusive space dedicated to celebrating the LGBTQIA+ community. We are thrilled to announce that we are back to commemorate Time to Talk Day, a noteworthy campaign aimed at combatting stigma. Mic Drop is joining forces with Birmingham Mind and The Associates Group to organize this event, which endeavors to put an end to the discrimination and stigma surrounding mental health issues. Taking place on February 1, 2024, at The Warehouse - Birmingham Friends of the Earth environmental community hub, Mic Drop will be an evening filled with creativity, expression, and celebration. We invite you to share your stories, comedy acts, poems, music, and art, as we honor diverse voices within the LGBTQIA+ community. Together, let's amplify queer voices and fight against the remaining stigmas that still exist.
