The Hot Chocolate Nutcracker is a contemporary and musical adaptation of the classic Nutcracker ballet, created by the renowned Debbie Allen. This spectacular holiday show brings a fresh twist to the beloved story, transporting audiences into a world of enchantment and wonder. Set on Christmas Eve, the Johnson Family and their loved ones gather for a joyous celebration. Among the many gifts exchanged, young Kara is delighted to receive a Nutcracker filled with her favorite drink, hot chocolate. As Kara drifts off to sleep, her magical journey begins when the Nutcracker springs to life. Together, they embark on an extraordinary adventure, visiting various captivating lands including Candy Cane Land, Egypt, the Indian Rainforest/Bollywood, Jazzland, Russia, and the land of the Kimona Dolls. To further enhance your experience, we invite you to join us for The Fairy Queen Tea, held before each matinee performance on Saturday, December 9th, and Sunday, December 10th, from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM. This exclusive event offers guests a delightful catered tea, a hot cocoa bar, opportunities for photos with cast members, and captivating storytelling. Join the Coastal Calm Art Experience + Holiday Toy Drive in Redondo Beach for a special afternoon of art, inspiration, and giving back. This event, taking place at the beautiful MESH Space on December 16th, is the perfect opportunity to connect with the community and experience the magic of art. Bring a toy to donate to the Beach Cities Toy Drive and be entered to win a special prize! The event will provide drinks and snacks for all attendees. From 1:30-2pm, Jamie, a fine art photographer and breathwork practitioner, will share an inspirational message and tips on staying calm during the holiday season. Jamie's work is a powerful combination of ocean imagery and breath, designed to provide a sense of calm and connection. Each art piece is a transmission of positive energy, reminding us to take a deep breath and find peace within. By pairing nature and breath, Jamie's artwork has a calming effect on the nervous system, bringing rejuvenation and tranquility. This event also supports mental health, as a portion of all sales will be donated to related causes.
