The City of Fremantle is pleased to announce the upcoming BMX coaching workshop session, brought to you by Freestyle Now. This exciting event will take place at the Esplanade Youth Plaza, also known as the Freo skatepark. The workshop session is divided into two sessions, the first starting at 9 am and the second at 10 am. Participants aged 6 and above are welcome to join this engaging experience.
Freestyle Now's skilled squad members will be on hand to provide technical advice, trick tips, and help with skill development. They will also emphasize the importance of skatepark etiquette. Each coaching workshop session runs for 50 minutes, followed by a 10-minute parent information session between sessions. This informative session aims to educate parents on skatepark etiquette, BMX bike understanding, and safety precautions. Participants in the second session are encouraged to arrive early to gain valuable insights from the parent information session.
Freestyle Now's facilitators will assess each participant's skill level and tailor their guidance accordingly, assisting with confidence-building and progression. They communicate effectively with the participants, ensuring clear understanding and engagement. Safety is paramount, and the instructors stress the significance of wearing helmets to minimize injuries.
Participants must bring their own equipment, including a BMX bike and closed-toe shoes. It is essential to note that defective bicycles may prevent participation, as our facilitators are unable to make repairs during the coaching session. Participants under the age of 6 will be assessed based on their ability to comprehend instructions and control their apparatus.
Key reminders for participants include wearing a helmet at all times, using BMX bikes exclusively, and wearing closed-toe shoes. Bringing water and applying sunscreen is also advised. Parents must remain on-site if their child is under 12. On the day of the event, participants will be required to fill out a form.
Freestyle Now's coaching workshops are renowned for their fun, informative, and motivational approach. The squad members encourage participants to ride at their own level and progress at their own pace. The workshops cover various aspects of the sport, including equipment maintenance and personal safety.
