Celebration Events in Montreal 2026: Dates, Itinerary & Tickets Price(June Updated)

In June, over 65,000 attendees celebrated the 35th anniversary of the Montreal Fringe Festival and enjoyed 800 performances by more than 500 artists from across the fields of theatre, dance, music, and visual arts! Whether visiting the various venues on Mount Royal Plateau or sipping a beer and listening to new bands in Fringe Park, Fringe Festival attendees had the opportunity to discover artworks by emerging artists!

Throwing colors symbolizes sharing joy and love. It is a unique opportunity for fun, where at a given signal everyone sprinkles each other with colored powder! Bring your children, friends and loved ones, or make new ones, to this unique festival! At this event, the fusion of pop and Indian music will transport you to a special atmosphere full of energy and wonder! Multiple dance groups, DJs and musicians will entertain you throughout the day on the main stage. In addition to the main line-up, you will find various tents at the festival where you can buy South Asian souvenirs, traditional dishes called "thalis", henna tattoos and much more!

This summer, Montreal welcomes the 40th annual L'International des Feux Loto-Québec (Quebec International Fireworks Festival). To celebrate this anniversary, past winners will gather to showcase their talent and creativity in a spectacular fireworks display, recognized as one of the world's most prestigious fireworks competitions. The L'International des Feux Loto-Québec runs from July 2nd to August 6th, 2026, including the following dates: July 2nd, 9th, 12th, 16th, 23rd, 26th, 30th, and August 6th. This year marks the third consecutive year that a 5-minute laser show has been added to the fireworks and music performances. We are honored to continue our partnership with Laser-Quantum to bring this spectacular laser show to audiences.

The Montreal Just For Laughs comedy festival hosts 250 shows across 25 venues in the city center (including multiple venues in Place des Arts) and offers hundreds of free outdoor events. It has become the world's largest comedy festival, attracting nearly two million visitors. The performances are in English and French (the French title is "Juste pour rire"), and feature approximately 1,700 artists from 19 countries.

After a hiatus of several years, Montreal's Christmas market returns with a brand new look. From November 21, 2025 to January 4, 2026, locals and tourists alike will have the opportunity to discover it on Jeanne Mance Street. The public can admire 40 chalets run by local and surrounding artisans, watch musical and theatrical performances, smell the sweet aroma of mulled wine, and enjoy other delicious treats.

The Montreal Festival of Lights returns from February 27 to March 6, 2026 (food events begin February 20), marking its 27th year with a brand-new lineup. This year's festival will once again take place in the Quartier des Spectacles, offering a vibrant array of food and music. This year's food festival opens on February 20, with a fresh and captivating theme. The heart of the festival, the Food Village, showcases culinary skills through various demonstrations, including live performances by renowned figures. A diverse and affordable menu will allow you to indulge in this culinary feast, while relaxed and enjoyable experiences such as pre-dinner cocktail parties, wine tastings, and creative workshops will add a fun and engaging atmosphere to the event. As in previous years, the festival's outdoor venues invite people to enjoy the beauty of winter. Visitors can enjoy the ice skating rink, ride the Ferris wheel for panoramic views, or explore the family-friendly winter maze. The food village will offer a variety of culinary delights, while the SAQ pub will welcome guests in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. A family-friendly area and various activities will further enhance the festive spirit.
