Don't miss this opportunity to prioritize your safety and well-being. Register now! As the violence towards women the UK has escalated The Safety Box has taken up the initiative to provide one of our personal safety and protection courses for women and young people. We wish we could do more but resources are limited and we are running this special self defence program for girls and women. The Safety Box Defence Programme is designed to empower teenagers and women people with effective prevention strategies, self-defence skills against aggressive individuals and would be attackers or sexual predators. We also due to the rise in knife crime factor into this course defence tactics against knife attacks and help them navigate situations involving gunfire. We prioritise safeguarding and provide training that simulates realistic physical conflict using both rubber and blunt metallic knives. Our techniques focus on Gross Motor Functional Movement, taking a practical, multi-sensory, and strategic approach to harness instinctual movements triggered by adrenaline in high-stress situations. Our training equips young individuals to respond appropriately under fear or anger-induced stress, simulating competitive scenarios. The methods we employ are grounded in practices used by military personnel and elite combat experts. Understanding the Dynamics of an Attack:
During an attack, when heart rates exceed 145 beats per minute, complex motor skills, such as fine motor tasks, martial arts techniques, and writing—begin to deteriorate. As heart rates surpass 175 beats per minute, adrenaline floods the body, impairing logical thought, narrowing peripheral vision, and heightening tunnel vision while causing vascular constriction to minimise bleeding from potential injuries. In such states, executing traditional martial arts moves becomes exceedingly difficult, often leading to freezing, panic responses, or loss of control. This is why we teach Gross Motor Functional movement techniques which despite then change in heart rate allows the body to appropriatly respond even with heightened anxiety and fear. As teenagers prepare to transition to university, it can indeed be a challenging time for both them and their parents. The prospect of new communities and potential dangers can be daunting. To address these concerns, we have developed a comprehensive training program specifically designed for young women. This program focuses on equipping participants with the knowledge and skills needed to navigate university life safely. Our training covers critical topics, including awareness of date rape drugs, understanding the signs of potential danger, and strategies for avoiding and escaping physical assaults. Given the rising statistics of violence against women, particularly during commutes, we emphasize practical self-defense techniques that can be applied in real-life situations, such as waiting at lonely train stations or bus stops. The program includes simulations that mimic real-life situations, helping participants practice techniques in a safe environment. This realistic approach ensures that they can see the effectiveness of the skills being taught. Our program is designed to be inclusive, suitable for individuals aged 10 and up, ensuring that everyone can benefit from the knowledge and skills shared. By the end of the training, participants will walk away feeling confident, prepared, and empowered to handle challenging situations effectively. In doing so, we aim to foster a greater sense of safety and security as they embark on this exciting new chapter in their lives. Our self-defence course is designed for a diverse range of individuals, including college and university-bound girls, young women in various roles, seasoned ladies in healthcare such as nurses and doctors on the frontline, loan workers at risk, and social workers who face challenging scenarios. Additionally, we cater to girls in years 5 and 6 transitioning to secondary school. This course equips participants with practical skills to enhance personal safety and empowers them with effective self-defense techniques. Don't miss out—enroll today and empower yourself!
