Welcome to AL-lapalooza! Join family, friends and colleagues for an evening to celebrate the life of Al Babiuk, the contributions he made to his communities, and the many connections he made amongst us. The event will be held in the Pinnacle Club at Princess Auto Stadium. Enjoy Food stations and visiting from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Cash Bar will be open during the event. Men in Cheap Suits (one of Al's favorites!) will hit the stage at 7:30 pm so bring your dancing shoes! This 7-piece band incuding keys and brass deliver high energy popular songs from the 60s to current, pleasing crowds young and old. Lead singer Jeremy Koz is a twice nominated Juno Award songwriter and has appeared on Canadian Idol. Dress Code: Your Bombers or Jets gear both passionately followed by Al, your favourite Band t-shirt to celebrate Al's absolute love of music, your funkiest fit and shoes to match the band's groove and Al's appreciation of fashion, or whatever you are comfortable in! Tickets are being sold to assist with food planning and number of attendees, all proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to a charity close to Al's heart. Philanthropy was something that was so important to Al. Al passed suddenly on September 7th, 2024. Al was recognized at a service in conjunction with a community fundraising event in his "newer" hometown of Killarney in October 2024 In true Al fashion he was passionately volunteering on the fundraising event prior to his passing. An event was not held at the time in Winnipeg or neighboring Teulon (Al's original hometown). Al-lapalooza will allow us to share memories and celebrate the incredible guy Al was.
