Join SheJumps for the SheJumps Junior Ski Patrol event, known as WILD SKILLS, taking place on December 16, 2023, at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort in Teton Village, WY. This full-day camp is designed for intermediate to expert skiers and snowboarders, aged 8-14. All individuals, including women, girls, transgender and cisgender individuals, and non-binary people, are welcome to participate. During this unique experience, participants will have the opportunity to learn about mountain safety and first aid from the local ski patrol community. The event is structured as a full-day camp, with participants divided into teams based on their skiing ability. Throughout the day, participants will rotate through different stations, where they will be taught various outdoor skills utilized by ski patrollers to maintain mountain safety. The day will begin with a morning meeting, followed by stations covering topics such as first aid, mountain safety, toboggan use, snowmobile safety, gear caches, weather, and avalanche basics & prevention. Lunch is included, and participants will have the chance to enjoy free skiing, surprises, and games. The afternoon will conclude with a demonstration of the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort avalanche dog program and the distribution of completion certificates. To ensure a smooth registration process, participants will be asked about their skiing ability to determine the most suitable team for them. It is recommended to bring skiing essentials such as backpacks, snacks, water, and extra gloves. SheJumps is committed to increasing the participation of women and girls in outdoor activities, promoting confidence, leadership, and a connection to nature and community.
