Red Dirt Film Festival Returns For a Twelth Season!
April 04-06, 2025 will mark the twelth annual Red Dirt Film Festival, held in Stillwater, OK, offering up dozens of brand-new films and live music. Named one of FilmFreeway's Top 100 Film Festivals out of the nearly 12,000 worldwide, The Red Dirt International Film Festival is where film and music goes to have fun. We love movies and a good time! We are pleased to showcase films, music and screenplays* of many genres. During its 3-day run, we will kick-off our 12th season by featuring a very diverse-selection of genres as we equally love a good comedy, horror film, drama, or documentary. We encourage submissions from directors who will be able to attend the entire festival, as we love to meet and network; forming friendships with fellow filmmakers and screenwriters, and learning from each other is a key part of our festival!
Red Dirt was formed to bring more inspiration, culture, and entertainment to central Oklahoma, as well as to enliven people of all ages through the united power of film and music media. In addition to inspirations both visual and aural, we have parties each evening, workshops, panels, Q&As, live music, networking opportunities and unique special events specific to each new year!
Stillwater is the launchpad for a number of other amazing things such as the world-famous Eskimo Joe's restaurant, musicians such as The All-American Rejects, Garth Brooks, Red Dirt Music; Oklahoma State University, and actors such as James Marsden, and Gary Busey.
Admission to all films is free to the general public. For those wishing to purchase VIP badges for the weekend extras, such as the catered Welcoming Party and the Awards ceremony, those can be purchased here for $30. T-Shirts and other clothing merchandise is also available at www.reddirtfilm.com.
We hope to see you at Red Dirt Film Festival during this year's fest; we look forward to having you as part of our festival to celebrate great film, scripts and music, and to have a lot of fun! Thank You.

Let's have fun with your creativity and make a “one-of-a-kind” tote bag by stenciling with Bengala Mud Dyes. Natural Japanese dye, Bengala dyes are made from soil, ‘environmentally safe’. Everyone will learn about the history and cultural significance of this unique dye form. The instructor will bring a variety of stencils for your creativity. Some stencils are from Japan that the instructor brought back! We start making the dyes into paste to stencil and have fun! You can choose as many colors as you like from a dozen of Bengala Dyes. We will set it by drying using a hair dryer and an iron. If you have extra time, you can stencil another one. The instructor will prepare extra tote bags and fabric to choose from (extra fee) or you can bring your own material (t-shirt, tote bag...) The dye fee might be charged for extra.
Students should bring:
A small spray bottle with water in it. A masking tape, a few sheets of newspaper or paper towels, a hair dryer, an iron and an ironing board. (Even though everyone brings them, we only use a few sets or hair dryers and irons/boards.) Stencils you would like to use if you have some. If there is some extra time, people can purchase whatever the instructor prepares for stenciling. Gloves and aprons are optional.
