Elemental Women’s Retreat at Equinox Botanical Sanctuary -
31st May 2025
9AM - 6PM
*Participant Arrival 8:30am
Hosted and guided by Michelle Greenfield and Lonnie Galt-Theis
Join Lonnie and Michelle as we bring together a small group of women to connect, relax, move and rejuvenate in the natural beauty of the Equinox Botanical Sanctuary.
Immerse yourself in the natural world and connect with the Elements. Root into the earth in the deep hollows of the forest. Engage with fire at a fire circle. Immerse in water at the pond or beneath the waterfall. Take deep full breaths of the fresh air in the natural environment. Connect with the space within you and all around you. Cultivate present moment awareness as you eat nourishing local and organic food, move through rejuvenating and inspiring yoga, find calm and stillness and deep relaxation in meditation and yoga nidra, and rediscover the peace of the living world around you.
The day will include
Radiant Body Yoga to connect with the Elements
A mindful forest walk and forest bathing
Group flower essence making and plant meditation
Herbal tea circle with fresh organic herbs from Equinox Farm and Botanical Sanctuary
Waterfall exploration and closing ritual
Restorative yoga and yoga nidra
Catered local and organic vegetarian lunch, plus a morning and afternoon snack
Time for swimming in the pond, resting and journaling
Why take a retreat?
Taking time for an intentional pause away from your regular routines allows for meaningful restoration. It creates space away from daily demands and distraction, lets your mind settle and reset, reduces stress, opens up time for introspection and self-reflection, and can allow for a deep physical rest.
Your Guides
Michelle and Lonnie are both experienced and certified Yoga and Meditation Teachers, and are deeply connected to the natural world. Michelle is a Mindful Outdoor Guide and leads Forest Bathing experiences. Lonnie is an herbalist, flower essence practitioner, and environmental educator. We are also mothers and business owners, so we understand how busy and stressful life can become. We have dedicated ourselves to guiding people into spaces of deep rest, rejuvenation, self-discovery and healing.
Location
Equinox Botanical Sanctuary is a solar powered farm and botanical sanctuary in Meigs County, in Southeastern Ohio. The land has been lovingly tended for over 50 years and is the protected home of native medicinals such as American ginseng, goldenseal and black cohosh. The retreat center has a sheltered yoga deck, an outdoor kitchen and dining area, beautiful swimming pond, waterfall and cave, and hundreds of acres of stewarded forest. The retreat center is accessed by AWD/4WD, and participants will be shuttled from the parking area at the road up the hill to the center. Sustainability and a break from technology is built into the fabric of the retreat center, with an outhouse for restroom, open air kitchen and dining facilities and no wifi.
