The 2023 NCSU Open Horse Show Judges Certification Clinic in Raleigh is the ideal opportunity for individuals who are horse show judges, or aspire to be, to gain practical experience and certification in judging. This clinic offers a hands-on approach, allowing judges to evaluate 20-27 conformation and performance classes across four divisions: Western, Hunter, Saddle Seat, and Non Trotting.

Distinguished judges from breed recognized organizations nationwide will be present to discuss class placings and deliver informative lectures on judging procedures. Upon completion of the clinic, participants will be included on an annually revised list of suggested horse show judges, distributed to open horse show organizations in North Carolina and neighboring states. Certification will be awarded separately for each division, ensuring a diverse pool of certified judges.

For aspiring judges new to the field, participation in the NCSU Horse Judging Short Course is highly recommended, although not mandatory. Advanced registration for the clinic is available at a cost of $75 per day for judges aged 19 and above. This fee covers all instruction, certification examinations, and inclusion on the prestigious 2023 NC Open Horse Judges' Certification List.
