About This Event: 2025 OSR30 The OSR30 is a +-30-mile urban ultra-marathon that takes runners around the perimeter of Manhattan in one of the most thrilling and unique racing experiences NYC has to offer. This checkpoint-driven race challenges speed, strategy, and creativity as teams—consisting of a runner and their personal bike escort—navigate the city to find the shortest and most efficient routes between checkpoints. Cost of entry includes pre-race breakfast and post-race lunch provided by Cafe Katja, access to Race HQ amenities (bathrooms, bag check, livestream, etc), product give-aways, custom race bibs, and access to the image folder after the race - all for both team members. Checkpoints will be revealed one week before race day, giving teams time to strategize their route and practice their approach. With a legacy spanning over a decade, the OSR30 has drawn Olympians, pro Ironmen, elite runners, and first-time ultra-marathoners alike. The 2024 event saw impressive performances, including Chase Junell winning the men’s race in 2:47:37, Kat Mayer dominating the women’s race in 3:25:59, and Grace Fitzgerald-Diaz taking the non-binary’s race in 5:27:03. Race Day Details: Date: Saturday, March 29, 2025Start Time: 10:00 AMDistance: Approximately 30 milesCutoff Time: 3:00 PM (5-hour limit)Start/Finish Location: Cafe Katja (71 Orchard St)Team Format: Each runner must recruit and race with a personal bike escort.Only one bike escort per runner allowed, and you must have the same escort for the duration of the race.Runners register under the  Team Ticket,  listing their bike escort as their teammate when prompted.Runners without a personal bike escort are not eligible to compete.OSR is not responsible for finding runners a bike escort.Runners who do not have a personal bike escort at the time of registration will have until March 1, 2025, to find a personal bike escort and register them via email with OSR.The Role of the Bike Escort: The bike escort is an essential part of the team, ensuring the runner’s success and safety throughout the race. Their responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Documentation: Bike escorts are responsible for capturing images of their runner at each checkpoint and submitting them to race organizers in real-time to verify checkpoint completion throughout the race.Team Strategy: Acting as a strategist during the race, providing real-time route adjustments and encouragement to keep the runner on pace.
