From Impressionism to Early Modernism: Collectors of Light - The Robert Lehman Collection, Metropolitan Museum of Art | National Museum of Korea

His unique style, initially met with ridicule, but this style—depicting everyday scenes of the late 19th century with vibrant colors and bold brushstrokes—later inspired numerous artists and is now considered a seminal work of Modernism.
