Changing narratives around queerness and disability via spoken word Narrative shift is a 6 session spoken word project commissioned by Helix Arts for people who are both LGBTQIA+ and disabled (of any exprience level), working with LGBTQIA+ and disabled poet Amy Langdown to create a permanent online exhibition. The project is open to anyone who identifies as both LGBTQIA+ and disabled and who wants to get involved with the work Helix Arts does to reframe narratives, especially for those who are often spoken about or for in mainstream media and history. There will be two groups available to participants - one on weekends and one on weekdays. In order to book onto either the weekday or weekend group, select the ticket for the first event of either group and you will be signed-up for the whole project! Join us for a Wild West-themed dinner buffet & murder mystery.It’s 1870 in the town of Dead Man, Kansas, USA. There’s a big crowd whoopin’ it up in Dead Man’s Saloon. The clock on the wall shows high noon—but then, it always does. All at once, word spreads that there’s going to be a shootout on Main Street. The crowd rushes outside to watch, but the street is deserted. Suddenly, two shots ring out from behind them, inside the saloon. When the crowd hurries back in, they find the dead body of Deputy Drinkwater, shot through the heart. Somebody must have stayed behind to do the evil deed.
