Family Event: Run/Walk, Eat, Dance! | Rundle Park
Jun 1, 2025 (UTC-6)ENDED
Edmonton
We'll meet at the picnic sites at 11a.m., wait a few minutes for everyone to arrive while we stretch and warm-up, then set out on the Riverside Trail from
AllTrails
.
The path we chose has both paved path running and trail running, so if your kids are in a stroller, biking or scootering you can stick to the paved paths.
Go at your own pace to finish the loop, which brings you right back to the parking lot so you can grab your potluck items and carry the over to the picnic area!
We will announce which picnic site we have on the morning of the event.
Spend the rest of the day, sharing food, chilling to tunes played by DJ Elvis Prime, socializing and hopefully making new friends! We'll organize some games for the kids and there is a playground adjacent to the picnic area, as well as paddle boats for rent! The full list of park amenities
here
.
Bring a dish to share, and we will also have the BBQ fired up so if you bring stuff to grill up for your family our cook can take care of that! And don't forget your water bottles and drinks! Selected picnic sites allow alcohol so we will try to snag one of those sites!

Speed-Tarot | 7933 104 St NW
Jun 13, 2025 (UTC-6)ENDED
Edmonton
You've got the decks. You've taken the classes. You've read the books, the blogs, the articles. You understand the structure of the deck. You can shuffle the cards. You've read for yourself so many times that you can predict what cards will show up in the spread.
But you want to practice reading for other people. Maybe the people around you aren't interested in getting readings, or you've read for them already, too, or maybe you just can't seem to get your schedules to match up. Or maybe you want to practice reading for people you don't know at all. So you need to find new practice partners...but where?
Where Faeries Live has the event for you: SPEED-TAROT!
This is not a class. There won't be a teacher with a lesson plan and handouts. This is a chance for some practical experience.
It's like speed-dating, but with Tarot readings. You'll move around the room, giving and recieving quick, 1-3 card readings. Each round will have a different topic, announced by the facilitator at the beginning of the round.
If you still need to reference your deck's guidebook, that's fine.
If you're getting to know a new deck, that's fine.
If you know your deck so well you could recite the guidebook in your sleep, that's fine.
This is for all you beginner-to-intermediate Tarot enthusiasts. (So not you folks who find reading for strangers as easy as breathing, sorry.) This event will not only get you reading for new people, but it will also force you to look at your cards in a variety of contexts.
You
must
bring your own Tarot deck. If you have a small crystal or other totemic item that assists you while you read, you are welcome to bring it along, too. But be aware that you will not be sitting at the same spot through the whole event. Anything you bring must be small enough to move easily along with you.
So come join us for an evening of Tarot fun and practice!
HOUSEKEEPING
Where Faeries Live has moved! Our new address is 7933-104 Street. We’ve had issues with map/direction apps taking people to the old location, even if the address is listed correctly. The good news is: we aren’t far away! If you find yourself at the old store, we are about half a block east and half a block north, next to Crave Cupcakes.
Tickets to this event are ONLY available through EventBrite. Anyone offering tickets via any other medium is trying to scam you.
Tickets are available on EventBrite through 11:59pm MST on June 12th, 2025. Refunds are available through EventBrite up to seven days before the event. EventBrite fees are non-refundable.

SILENCE

ONCE UPON A MATTRESS
Synopsis
: Many moons ago in a far-off place, Queen Aggravain decreed no couples could marry until her son, Prince Dauntless, found a bride. Princesses came from far and wide to win the hand of the prince, but none could pass the impossible tests given to them by the Queen. That is, until the “shy” swamp princess, Winnifred the Woebegone, showed up. Would she be able to pass the Sensitivity Test, marry her prince and help Lady Larken and Sir Harry to the altar? Carried on a wave of wonderful songs, by turns hilarious and raucous, romantic and melodic, this rollicking spin on the classic tale
The Princess and the Pea
provides some side-splitting shenanigans. For after all, a princess is a delicate thing.
