Through analyzing works by renowned authors like M. John Harrison, Joel Lane, and Irenosen Okojie, you will gain a deeper understanding of the genre and storytelling techniques. The course will cover various aspects of writing urban weird fiction, including crafting outsider stories, generating ideas and outlines, honing your fiction craft in terms of plot, tension, and description, and editing and critiquing your own and others' work. You will have the opportunity to share your final urban weird short stories in a fun and supportive environment. The course will culminate in the publication of your best story in an EBook by Comma Press, a reputable publisher specializing in short fiction. Taught by experienced fiction tutor SJ Bradley, this course is suitable for writers of all levels.
