The session lasts about 2 hours, with one model doing various, timed gestures and poses. Chairs and tables will be available, but we ask participants to bring their own art materials. Some basic materials will be provided. This session will feature a slightly clothed model. Advance registration is encouraged. Doors open at 6 pm, seating is first come, first served, with guaranteed space for ticket holders. Walk-ins are welcome, but limited to our venue capacity. Drawing will begin promptly at 6:30 pm. Tricia Creason-Valencia will be leading a one hour workshop on Writing an Artist Statement. Tricia Creason-Valencia is a dynamic force in the world of filmmaking, education & community building. Through the art of storytelling, Tricia weaves her own raw narrative of mothering, making movies, resilience and rediscovery. She believes, deep in her soul, that truth-telling fosters empathy and connection, serving as a catalyst for social change. Alyssarhaye Graciano will be leading a one hour workshop on Writing an Artist Resume/CV. Born and raised in San José, Alyssarhaye Graciano is a trilingual fiber artist and painter. Once a linguistic specialist in the tech industry, she left her day job to pursue a career in the arts. While she mainly knits and crochets, painting, sewing, macramé, and weaving are also parts of her art practice. Today she works as the Visual Arts Curator at MACLA in San José, CA. Alyssarhaye continues her art practice through installations, pattern design, workshops, and exhibitions.
