Photobook Workshop | Wollongong Art Gallery
Jul 17, 2025 (UTC+10)
Wollongong
Curate a Patrick Pound inspired collection of found images and leave with your very own photobook! In this workshop we will be collecting images in unexpected taxologies inspired by Patrick Pound: wind blowing right, sunbathers, circles. We will use our curatorial and photocopying skills to produce photobooks much like Patrick Pound’s Windows. Photobooks have become a sub-cultural phenomenon globally, with a following that is small but dedicated. The photobook is not just an album; it is a medium and it is an art object in and of itself. As Clément Chéroux writes: “The current popularity of the photobook is no mere fad. It has lasted now for more than twenty years and has had important impacts on the ecosystem of photography. The phenomenon is also of historical importance, since it embodies the new face of photophilia.”
