The Brothers of Epsilon Iota Chapter, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., are pleased to announce that the Epsilon Iota Foundation will be hosting the 40th Annual Ronald McNair Challenger Open Golf Tournament on Saturday, July 19, 2025. This year’s tournament will be held at Shadow Glen Golf Course in Manor. Dr. Ronald McNair was one of the NASA astronauts that perished in the Challenger Space Shuttle explosion in January 1986. Dr. McNair, who was a member of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, was a shining example of commitment to Omega’s Four Cardinal Principles: Manhood, Scholarship, Perseverance, and Uplift. Hence, the Brothers of the Epsilon Iota Chapter chose to recognize Dr. McNair’s life of sacrifice and service by naming this golf tournament in his honor. The golf tournament is a fundraiser for the Epsilon Iota Foundation. The Epsilon Iota Foundation is the philanthropic arm of the Epsilon Iota Chapter, and it makes charitable donations and scholarship grants on behalf of Epsilon Iota Chapter.
